Latitude Australia DAB+ Digital & FM Radio $30 @ DSE Click + Collect

140

I have been hunting around for a camping radio for my husband and I noticed this for only $30 at Dick Smith, with bonus Australian flag graphic on the speakers. Sells for $58 at Big W and $68 at Harvey Norman. The stock in other stores seem to all be plain grey or black on the speaker. So, cheaper and cooler at DSE.

Click and collect only and there are plenty in stock for postcodes 2000, 3000, 4000, etc.

haha it appears the normal no stock anywhere near me problem exists. Can I price match this at officeworks?.. :)

Plenty in SA, but quick google shows this is normally $55-68 and not so good quality.

  • In stock in Beenleigh and Tweed Centro on the Gold Coast but there's DAB on the Coast!!

    • Tweed Centro is on the Tweed Coast, not the Gold Coast,…..or are you trying to sneak across to a winning footy state?

  • Yes plenty of stock. Curious about the reviews re quality, whether it would be better connected to an external amp as mo others are. Should I risk $30? Maybe I'll have a look in the shop next week and take along earphones.

This is not really good for camping. You want an AM radio, as it is much harder to find an FM or DAB signal in the bush. Unless by "camping" you mean the town caravan park :)

    • and also you would require a power source as DAB radio's drain batteries very quickly

  • In stock at Hobart

  • would have been good if the bonus $20 DSE gift card offer was still going

At last, a clock that will remind me of blind commitment to bogan nationalism each time it wakes me up.

    Seriously Fugly.

  • I would have thought your find but then saw scrimshaw's - 37AUD, might be the most competent under the circumstances.

  • Hi moneymoo,
Two choices … camping in the great outdoors, buy something cheap is one option, don't be surprised when hubby finds it's a load of rubbish when it comes to reception capability and simple usage facilities, especially operating it in the dark at night.

Or else buy something that is portable, works well, has best reception, easy to use in the dark, sleep timer, clock, AM-FM tuners. You don't need DAB …. will NEVER work in OZ in the bush.

    In black: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sangean-PR-D7-AM-FM-Rechargeable-…

Do your own research first, for example: http://www.amradioantennas.com/quality_radios.htm

You won't be disappointed in this investment. Cheers.

    • Thank you very much :)

This is a good radio for the bush because it will not get any DAB+ or FM reception there so he will be able to enjoy the solitude and natural sounds of the bush that he has gone camping for.

  • Moneymoo's seeking guidance as to a choice of radio with usable features. If and when they use their radio, that is their choice, not yours. If you have nothing useful to say, as is the case here, try being a mature adult and say nothing.
