TYPO - $5 "Fill a Bag" Sale - Stuff as Much Selected Items into Bag Provided (DFO Stores)

410

I found this deal whilst wandering around DFO Essendon.

There is a table full of sale items as below;

  • Funky picture frames
  • Desk ornaments
  • Posters
  • Funny stamps
  • Mugs
  • Funny Greeting Cards
  • Little notebooks
  • Wooden letters (desk or wall)
  • Canvas printed letters
  • Random other useless fun stuff

You pick whatever you want out of these sales items and fill the provided bag and pay $5.

I asked the store person about other stores and stated that the other DFO stores have this sale as well.

Might be worth checking out.

There are TYPO stores at - Moorabin, Essendon and South Wharf

Cheers.

——————> It is not the biggest bag (unfortunately I did not take a photo - I can when I get home today though), but when I went to the counter and gave all my stuff he said he was not too fussed if it was over flowing. Again this would most likely depend on the sales person who is serving on the day. <————————

Just called South Wharf and Moorabin and they stated that it is on Sale there too!

They are not sure how long it will be on for because they have heaps more stuff to get rid off.

Here is the picture of the size of the bag next to an ipad (it should give you relative size). Hope this helps.

the bag was an envelope around A5 size (half an A4)

you couldnt fit much in it if you got the letters/mug
but if you like th stamps and pens
    u could get quite alot!

the bag was an envelope around A5 size

      LOL

how do you fit a mug or a poster in that ???

      • +4

Maybe he meant mug+poster= mug shot.

      • +2

Trust my, I fit 2 mugs , a poster, numerous stamps, a plastic skull head ornament, 4 picture frames… and other random stuff. If you want it to fit.. it will fit lol

  • I would definitely check it out at South Wharf if someone can confirm if its applicable to that also.

Would you know if this deal is available at any of the WA stores?

  • available in any of the SA stores?

  • I thought this was only for the store in my area at dfo……. They were selling letters for 5cents each and having bags for $5

It's kinda cool but isn't much useful stuff

  • +1

    I wish it was BYOB!

  • Not at Typo North Ryde, think that its only DFO stores

    • Went by Haymarket (Market City)yesterday and it's available there though I didn't buy anything.

      • I got a few things but the stuff was pretty crap in comparison to the DFO's in Melb

      • I went to Haymarket today and they told me the sale ended yesterday and they were giving out big bags yesterday coz they wanted to get rid of stuff :( so bummed I missed out! Great deal for anyone who got it!

  • Always wondered who would buy an emergency toilet roll. I guess no one!

  • Woo yeah, I always wanted a bag of random junk!

  • +3

Canberra City typo does not have this sale

Nobody said you can't manipulate the bags. Get a bag as the bottom then get another and puncture a hole on the bottom and use that bag as a "wall" to make it longer.

Note: I do not endorse cheating

    • +4

      That's not cheating, that's bagception. :)

  • Also at DFO Brisbane Airport from the weekend.

From memory, bag was roughly an A5 envelope, but you could have up to four bigger items (like mugs) included.

I went to the Moorabin one and the SA gave us one of their larger shopping bags for us to fill rather than the smaller envelopes on the table. She said to just hold whatever doesn't fit in the bag. I grabbed a bunch of stuff that half I probably didn't need. Grabbed posters, canvas, letters, pencil holders, coin banks and other little junk… It was basically heaven! :)

hey, went to the Melbourne SouthWarf DFO Typo shop at lunch time today.

One table full of stuff. Note pads, skulls, mugs, wrapping paper, etc.

The guy said I could use a smaller bag if buying smaller items or he would give me the larger bag if buying the larger item. They clearly just want to clear this stock :)

He also said that he's expecting another list of items to put on the $5 table today. So they must be adding more to the $5 table on a regular basis (for now).

I must have got $60 worth of stuff for $5. Good for the kiddies and some potential kris kringle presents in there if you are forward planning!

    Cheers
