Why don't you share the deal to get it at $199? paying extra $36 to get one delivered doesn't sound like a bargain

    • Read the description. The $199 deal was last week…

      • I can read alright, thank you. If it ever can be $199, meaning $235 has huge profit margin, I believe ppl would await 'real' bargain. btw, if you get access to some shops on SI, there are much better deals.

Just a reminder, you can get the Acer P244 24" 1920x1080 from Officeworks, pricematched to MSY for $331.55, then get $79 cashback from Acer making it $252.55.

officeworks are wising up to msy. Last time my mate tried to get them to price match, Officeworks called up MSY and said they have no stock (of the 24" acer). Then he called up 5 minutes later on his mobile and they had 3 in stock. I'm not sure if it's officeworks or MSY playing silly buggers, but i ended up buying the Acer from MSY. Hopefully an isolated indecent.

      • Whenever pricematching MSY I always call ahead myself and ensure there's stock, just in case this sort of thing happens.

        • true, but i don't really know if it's MSYs or Officeworks fault.

I remember when i worked at a liquor store, we started to wise up who was calling from Dan Murphys down the street, and who was just a general customer.

@Davo1111: In any case, if you buy it from somewhere else I think you can go to OfficeWorks with the invoice and they'll re-imburse you the difference… I may be just making that up though.

            • @[Deactivated]: hmmm i think you're thinking of the Harvey Norman Price Match policy. You buy an item from harvey norman, then the same item elsewhere for cheaper. Take the receipt and product into harvery norman and they will refund you 110%. Kind of silly though because you have to trek all over town. It's easier just to get it cheap in the first place.

  • You can also get price matches after the fact with Office Works as well…So if you buy something at officeworks and then find a cheaper price the next day or the next week, you can go to the store and present the price to get a refund of the difference and more recently the 5% extra as well.

Office works does have a clear price match policy, however it is the people that work there that cloud it all and make it an issue (make up their own version). If you have any problems you should speak to their manager and if you still aren't happy with their response, speak to their boss.

I have had staff at OW try and give me a whole lecture about how "they support retail and would never buy anything from an internet store…they're dodgy…"
others at OW have told me that…
"we don't price match if its bellow our cost"
"we don't price match if they don't have a store you can physically walk into"
Five Dock OW is probably one of the worst. Staff there in the IT dept have a pole stuck so far up their ass…when they speak bits of shit comes out.

I suggest that you don't give up just go to another store or complain to the H/O.

Wising up or not they have the policy so they must honor it.

ACCC would love to hear about any problems you may have.
