Quite a biased article. "Canberra baker Leanne Gray…determined to patronise the bakeries"
A baker says she buys things from bakeries. M.Night.Shamalan would be proud of that twist.
The cheese and bacon rolls in this bargain are not "artisan" loaves, so have nothing to do with that article.

  • These rolls are disgusting.

    • I came here to say the same thing. Why so much sugar in the bread? But mainly they seem to use reject bacon and cheese.
It is easy and cheap to make your own that are so much better.
I mean just throw cheese and bacon on top of your preferred rolls and grill.

If you have no evidence dont go around posting false claims, i worked in the coles bakery not too long ago, and all the bread in the clear bags have been baked in store from scratch, they use proper branded bacon and cheese (surprisingly lol). the stuff in the brown paper bags have been brought in frozen the heated ;3.

.. though some stores do sell the whole range as frozen :D

        • "baked in store from scratch"… in Ireland… http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/business/fresh-claims-coles-…

        • The Coles finest range I believe was the only thing made in Ireland and is now made in Australia (finest cookies), though everything other than the Coles owned and clear packaging bread not the $1 smart buy and the bread rolls eg. Cheese bacon rolls, whoemeal, tiger rolls are all baked from scratch in store that morning. I'm not sticking up for Coles even though they treated me like an absolute pile of poop. I'm just making a point :)

  • There were cases of Coles/woolworth bakeries using their expired flour stocks to bake their own breads.

mmm… love coles cheese and bacon rolls. They actually have cheese and bacon on them and they aren't burnt and dry like the ones at woolies.

If your posting items in the catalogue you can do it on one post you dont need to do each one seperatly

I prefer highlighting the better deals.

      • then why did you post this ???

        • +1

It's technically a better deal, if you feed these to your dog or something.

        • if you feed these to your dog or something.

And risk being charged with cruelty to animals? No thanks…

When are you going to take an extended holiday jv? Why do you feel it necessary to comment on every single post? You must lead a dreadful life.

These are awful compared to the ones sold at bakeries…

To think I JUST bought one. ><

They're sold stale, pretty sad. :(

      They're sold stale

I think they feel fresh for about 20 minutes after they've reheated them in the oven in the mornings. After that, they slowly go back to the same state that they've been stored in for the last few months.

oh no no no, why does everyone think that every bit of bread is frozen? gosh haha, the cheese and bacon rolls are made from scratch, though i do agree 100% that they feel like a pile of crap after a few hours.
