Wednesday Buddha for $5 @ Bunnings Warehouse (Was $14.98)

90

Hi Guys,

Thanks for sharing all the great deals here in ozbargain and helping everyone find great deals.

I found the 'Wednesday Buddha' for $5 at Bunnings Warehouse rockdale on sunday.

Just had a chance to submit this deal late, because my home internet connection wasn't fixed by the shitty Optus and finally fixed.

Anyway i am not sure if all the bunnings warehouse would have it, give your local bunnings a call to confirm if they've got the stock on clearance as well. Just another way of saving (another bargain) or walk in if you live closer to the store, save phone bills LOL.

Thanks guys :)

I don't think most who uses Buddha statues as a decoration knows anything about the meaning of Buddhism. Buddha him self rejected all the meaningless things like decorations and it's strange that people use Buddha statues as a decoration. I have some friends who keeps Buddha statues everywhere in their house and garden thinking that it's cool and they are going to achieve some spiritual things by doing that. The reality is that they never made any real attempt to understand anything in actual teachings of real Theravada Buddhism or the spiritual side of it. Anyone can use Buddha statues as a decoration as no one who actually follow buddhism as a religion would do anything against that. However if you follow any religion and still keep Buddha statues as a garden decoration think twice before you do that. Because it's better to respect other religions and their icons even if you don't follow it. As a Buddhist I would never even think of doing any dis respect to any other religious icons. Imagine if some moron keeps a Jesus statue as a decoration in the garden floor. This is exactly same.

they don't know much about buddhism but they can tell you a whole lot about OZBargainism

      • I think keeping Buddha statues as a decoration item in gardens is part of Boganism that they think only cool people would do that.

Or people who's been to Bali…

    • Actually I have seen a statue of Virgin Mary look-alike as a garden decoration.

    • Agree, live and let live.

If everyone respected others beliefs, don't think there would be any wars or suffering in the world.

  • nothing like a discounted local deity
