    Got one of these for my wifes ipad when it was $10 on kogan last time. I don't like it - it barely holds up the ipad, and there's no protection on the back (which I didn't know at the time of ordering so my fault really).

      OW sells the Belkin snap shield for $10. I know it is not worth it and a lot of bad reviews on it but Belkin has good warranty and after sales services.

      No, but they are pretty damn similar. I got one last round and have bought the iPad Mini version this time. No complaints as magnets seem strong and appearance is close to genuine article.

    Got a similar cover for my Nexus 7 from eBay. Can't remember the price but it wasn't far off.

    Note that it's a decent cover but after using it for about 5 months or so, 3 of the 4 corners have cracked. Case hasn't been dropped nor has the Nexus 7 been removed. Probably just brittle plastic and an overly snug fit.

    My son's Ipad mini already has a protective case around the sides and back. Could this smart cover be used as protection for the screen? or will the magnets not "stick" because of the existing case?

    eBay ones are crap. Although the one that I bought has magnets, the inside material keeps rubbing off and onto the screen.

      those interested in ebay ones. Some feedback… I got one just like the kogan unit (for ipad-mini) similar from a seller called crazyapple-store that was ok, but to be honest the design is restricted, cannot easily hold it verticle and the way they unit stands is not ideal. Better than what I've seen in local stores as a mate paid 4 times the price for something with obvious defects in the material, but then again I bought other cases from an ebay seller called coreldty2012 and the cases are crap as per darkchaos51's experience with ebay. hit and miss and due to the cost of shipping your money's gone when this happens (coreldty2012 refused replacement as some sellers are now doing)…. I'm going to try the swivel stands next time.
