Hey Rep, Do you have the ZOPO C2 Platinium edition for sale or better still, the FLAGSHIP Edition? This one is much better with the faster Turbo processor (1.5 vs 1.2) and 16GB onboard storage with the Flagship edition having 2GB RAM. Other places have them on sale at $270 or so for the Platinium.

        Thanks

        • @bchliu - The Neo N003 32G phone from lightake was due on June 25 and now on July 25! Crap, they keep changing the date.

Is this the only FHD phone supports OTG?

        • Nope, Xperia Z does OTG as well as MHL (although not simultaneously). I suspect though, that you are looking for a cheaper option ie Chinese. I too would like to know this.

        • I know the Samsung Galaxy S4 supports OTG, but the price is 2-3x more.

    • Doesnt compare.. W100 is a qHD resolution (960x540) versus a FULL HD resolution on the Zopo (1920x1080)

      • If you can tell the difference on a 5" screen you are Sven Nykvist.

        • The one you listed is not even a 5" screen. Not saying your point isn't valid, but the only reason you would consider the Zopo is the FullHD screen, take that away and we could list 100's of alternative phones.

        • Having access to many phones (Razr, THL W8, Galaxy S4) of different resolutions I can tell you that there is SUBSTANTIAL differences in the resolution that creates different sharpness in picture. There is a good reason why the industry is moving to 1080p screens.

  • The internal memory is a little lacking unfortunately. Consider the THL W8+ or the THL W8 Beyond as a better alternative (costs $250 from Chinavasion / THL Shop). The updated versions run a faster MTK6589T @ 1.5ghz rather than 1.2ghz. The GPU remains unchanged however.

The only problem with these phones is that they only have a 2000mah battery despite having a 1080p screen, so don't expect a long battery life.

    • Do the THL Phones (W8+ and W8 Beyond)have access to Google Play Store out of the box?

      • Yep. You can use em' right out of the box, no problems. I highly recommend GravityMod2 though. Check XDA.

        • Thank you scrimshaw. How easy is it to install/upgrade (or whatever the correct term is) to GravityMod2 for a technology-challenged ol' fart, and what benefits does it offer?

        • This sums up the benefits of using custom Modded ROMS.

Also it unlocks certain functions in the phone that you normally wouldn't be able to access, however these functions are usually deemed for the power user. The average user will probably not find these to be of particular use — for example, the ability to perform a complete backup of your mobile phone, including it's system applications, or the ability to block ads from webpages on your device (Ad-Away).

Gravity Mod2 download and discussion thread:
          http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249808

You should only install GravityMod2 if you are:

Able to follow written instructions to the letter

Confident that you can perform said instructions correctly (if you do something wrong, you could cause some irreparable damage to your device.) Always double check the instructions. Don't be afraid to ask if you're stuck or unsure of a step.

Understand that there is a small degree of risk of your device being incompatible with said ROM, and may not provide a 100% fault free experience.

        • OMG! Thank you scrimshaw :-)

  • Where are you shipping from? ShenZhen? Hong Kong? Singapore?

    • We send it from ShenZhen

      • Also we have warehouse in Germany, France, Spain, if someone want the phone be sent to Europe, we can send from these warehouse, and soon we will have our warehouse in Austraila, then I think it will be better service.

      • So you will be using China Post for free shipping?

  • Does anyone have a link to a good review site for the Androids coming out of PRC? When are they expected to release phones with LTE radios inside?

  • THL W8+ or the THL W8 and the likes.
so are they will offer very similar or better usage experiences compare with galaxy note 2?
i guess you cant really put custom roms on those china brands?

    • i guess you cant really put custom roms on those china brands?

You can, if such ROMS exist.

      • +1

Just make sure the one you plan on getting has a large enough userbase/community support. If so, there will most likely be custom CM roms out there.

        • how about the smoothness, quality of camera, compatibility with games/apps etc, can i expect the same as note 2?

        • no. you can expect similar for most of those, though, at a fraction of the price of a note 2, except for the camera. The cameras tend to be lower quality (despite some having similar pixel counts) to the bigger brand phone camera.

Although to be honest I haven't had a heap of experience with the lesser branded phones, most comes from a friend's THL W8 (not sure if it was + or not). For the price it's a brilliant phone (it was bought on a half price deal on ozb that caused a lot of outrage as many people had their order cancelled).

        • Has anybody spotted a custom rom for this phone? I've looked on XDA and the only info I could find was how to convert it from Aliyun to Android.

        • edited.

        • Here is an unboxing & hands on video (skip first ~10mins of boring unboxing).

          http://youtu.be/saEpIm0hFnY

He also links to his site in the description where he has uploaded some pictures taken with the phone.

So far it looks pretty good.

        • Yes, camera quality on low lighting settings are poor. and 1 other problem was getting gps signal in side the house. may be it's normal to not get gps signal indoor. Outdoor is fine.

  • Antutu benchmark for ThL W8 Beyond is 12447.

Looks pretty much like a S4 phone and the price is 3x less.

  • I want to order from Pandawill to Melbourne. Which delivery is better : using reg airmail by China post or Singapore Post" ? Any problem if I use "reg airmail by China post" ? have u ever had bad experience with Pandawill? Thanks

  • I got this phone about 2-3weeks ago. It's a good phone. And I am considering getting a C2 platinum version for my misses. when is the release date for the c2 platinum?

  • @Ppl that have used both a 1280x720 (320dpi) & 1920x1080 (480dpi) phone:

CPU & RAM aside, is there a significant improvement of noticeable image quality that would justify paying the extra $50-70 (on top of $165) just for the screen size & resolution?
