        RT! no deal.

        • RT for a number of good reasons has been a turkey in the marketplace.

In order to find some sort of a place for - and to clearout - their remaining inventory prior to the release of 2nd gen RT tabs (reputed to retail for under $US300), Microsoft is about to slash their prices to educational institutions in Australia by 60%.
Microsoft is also reputed to be about to slash the cost of RT licences for angry manufacturers like Asus in order to compensate for whole debacle.

Assuming it ever really was, now is definitely not the time to buy an RT device - unless you're a school or a uni, I suppose.
          Sorry OP.

        • so only schools/unis can buy them and not available to individual students/teachers? do they expect schools to buy 50 tablets for their classrooms or something?

        • Hey Tas, you hear they next gen RT tabs are going to be around US$300 when they come out? Holy hell that's soooo much better. Hear any estimates as to when that will be?

  • Not sure, but there'll be enough time to find out. I think the promotion is scheduled to finish August 31st.

  • Price is still showing as $687, this deal is supposed to be on now (this weekend).. isn't it?

    • from me as your post alerted me to the iTunes deal!
  • Can't you get full Win 8 Tabs for this price?

    • no, they are usually 600+

      • They are often under 400, do a search on this site
