If I was going to spend $10k on a TV I'd want a free back rub, and I'd expect an invite to the store's christmas party too…

  • don't quite see the point on 65" when it is still the same old 1920x1080 res where you can get on a 32"

    • Go to a store and see what looks better, that 32" or 50"+ screens. Sure the resolution may be the same but the image is still alot better.

1080p is largely wasted on tv's that size anyway and it's largely regarded that you probably want to be starting at about 40" before 1080p starts to matter.

But yeah, 10k is expensive. I'd probably lean towards a good projector or something if I wanted something at that size currently.

  • Yep, for under $10k I got a Sony SXRD 1080p projector, Pioneer THX 7.1 receiver with HDMI upscaling of all inputs, Mission 5.1 speaker system, 180" wall mount screen, HTPC and remote controlled curtains to black off the room.

No way to spend that much for such a small screen. I'd rather a 50" for 1/5th the price.

What brand is the 'free' 32" telly?

Blow it up to 500% and you'll see it's a Sharp.
      Probably the LC32PD53X or LC32PD33X?

      • It's the LC32D33X which has a street price of around $900 and doesn't have 100hz.

        The LC32D53X does have 100hz.

    • You thought they would sell a Sharp LCD TV and the free one would be something other than a Sharp?
