  • The McAffee software cant be removed for a substantial saving on this one ($130.90) :-( hence why you probably get the $100 discount.

I think this time around - they have only added the 30day trial.

You got to accept that not every DELL deal is for everyone. The deal with monitor was good last week - but now without.

Generally, with DELL, if you wait around, you would get the deal you are looking for (deal changes every week). I think this week, they want to get a share of the RUDD bonus!

  • i already have a Hd4850. Will the dell motherboard support crossfire?

    • very much doubt it would and if it did then the power supply likelly wouldn't be enough plus they use their custom parts so you cannot put your own power supply or overclock and similar…

    • Its only got 1 PCIe x16 slot (according to the tech specs), so the answer would be no. The only core i7 motherboard that small (ie microatx) that supports crossfire or SLI is the new Asus Rampage II Gene

the system looks to be an great price - but omg did you see the price of hard drive upgrades???
To add a 1tb hd - $620.40 (fwiw bare hd is $160-210 most shops, takes less than 5 minutes to install)
    ouchies

  • The 8% discount (down to $1471) is also possible if you're eligible for the EPP by using GFJVN23QJRZ?VM, though I still don't like the value of the i7 CPUs at all seeing that 98% of software out there won't make use of most of the cores and you end up with a very slow clock rate…

  • Great specs for that price, only gripe is I'd prefer an Nvidia but I'm assuming it'd chew up too much voltage as the 4850 is a 110W card.

  • For anyone thinking of getting this but concerned that the deal might change for the worse (when it inevitably does change) then you can save your cart for 4 days (and longer apparently) and buy using the saved system/order if the new one is worse than the previous week's one. Just remember to save the item into your cart as you would want it configured cause if you change anything it will change the price to the current one.

Might save you missing out on the previous week's deal.

As the information in the link is old, I will assume it still works as described.

    • Tried the saved cart and it doesn't work. I missed the i7 deal and Dell rep doesn't allow to have the discount after the deal ends. Damn it. Just beware of the saved cart, some how Dell has a way to change the price.
