  • Price etc in title, please…

    • thank you for the reminder! thank you !

  • +1

And the price is…..$319.00 <- should put that in title.

But that's a small price to pay for an "Ultar-Thin body"

  • $319.00 not even quadband or 4g.

  • NO PRICE INFO NO OZBARGAIN PLEASE.

    • This stock is already in Australia, GST invoice can be provided for tax purposes

ZOPO is a well known brand worldwide.

      cheers

      • +1

I haven't heard of ZOPO though …not until a week ago where a similar deal came up.
And I have used mobile phones from Stone age……

        Must be well-known in China I guess………

  • +1

you can pick it up for $250 from alibaba

    • We are Authroized Australia Dealership http://www.zopomobile.com.au/

We offer 12months warranty, dont worry.

If you buy from alibaba, you are taking a high risk that you wont get warranty covered.

      • +1

We are Authroized (sic) Australia Dealership http://www.zopomobile.com.au

This would appear to be your site.

Why is there a fake contact 'phone number on the site?

    • Honestly, we do try to email alibaba seller, when you speak to them, they cant sell for $250

cheapest available i have seen in alibaba are $280 (no GST)

Sorry if we deserve a negative for giving a good bargain.

        • You'll find that most of these are actually Zopo C2 which only has 4GB NAND.

        • -5

          Fastcardtech has them for $268
and for $328 you can get the 2GB/32GB version.
          http://www.fastcardtech.com/ZOPO-ZP980-Plus

And if you are not that picky about screen size and limited storage, Nexus4 can be had for almost the same price which is guaranteed to be better quality.

        • +4

          USD $268 = AUD $293.15 + 10% GST = $322.46 > $319

Yeah I know. Gone were the days of AUD USD parity :(

        • +1

          lol "Your honest pal"

          ….honest bro.

        • -1

GST still shouldn't be part of the equation for this comparison.

        • Your honest pal… SURE~~~

          March
          Bought a phone from FCT

          Apr
          Received the phone
Found the spec was not as advertised
          Sent back the phone

          May
          Filed a complaint with Paypal

          June
          FCT received the phone
Paypal was useless and closed my dispute without refund

          July
          Still has not given refund
My credit card company charged back and I got my money back

          Moral of story
          1. FCT, your honest pal, SURE you are honest
          2. Paypal buyer protection, SURE you protect your buyer
          3. Credit card company is your last line of defense against fraud. YES, totally agree

  • Weight 522g???
Edit: okay the weight of the whole package.

    • yes !

      Weight: 150g (with battery)

  • Yikes, $319 !!! a little bit too much I think
i'd rather wait for specials, pay a bit more and get the real thing like the Samsung note at $499

    • Dear jd4free,

before we bring them in, we do have doubt about the quality and price.
but once we have tested ourselves, we are happy with the quality and very happy with the price.

We have sold a good numbers of them already to few corporate and the DUAL SIM are really useful.

      • We have sold a good numbers of them already to few corporate

Somehow I doubt that this is true. Corporate buyers would require the item(s) to be 'llegal'.

        • I second.
Most corporate prefer iPhones or Sammies.

    • Waiting might not be a winning strategy now with sinking pacific peso.

    • $200 more is not a "bit" more.

  • +3

No 3G 900 band? So not great for Optus users.

    • we are using OPTUS card for our demo ^^

      • +2

Without 900MHz means you won't get much 3G from Optus in rural.

      • Yes, demo with Optus in a 2100MHz area….

  • +2

How's the battery life? One common thing about chinese phones is poor battery usage.

    • I'd be interested in this as well.

      • Reviews say generally 'a day'.

if you make the correct settings you can reach 18 hours with little heavy usage

    • One common thing about chinese phones is poor battery usage.

I got the w8 from dx a while back and I've been pleasantly surprised…. easily lasts a day with my 'normal' use

  • Well Compare to a lot of phones on the market, this phone is a really good buy I think.
Pity I just bought a Samsung Xcover2 (for my missus) and its a great phone and all but with only 1 gig of memory really makes it a crippled phone :(

  • +2

    Any Ozbargain special, OP?

    • +1

Less than $300 I think more people will be more interested :)

  • good spec, review look fantastic on youtube, but just wondering about the battery life.

  • Rep. Are these legal?

    • we are in melboune, you can inspect before you paid or you can try before you buy.

  • -1

we are in melboune, you can inspect before you paid or you can try before you buy.

My question was "Are these legal?"

    • Sorry I dont understand the questions, why it can be illegal?

      • +1

A Tick or C Tick or some such. Can't be bothered to look up your legal obligations for you.

      • -3

Sorry I dont understand the questions, why it can be illegal?

Rep. Are these phones you have imported legal to sell, buy, and use in Australia?

If so, please post the 'N' number from the box and the electrical safety certification number from the charger.

  • +1

I think I would rather pick up at THL W8 Beyond with the faster 1.5 GHz chip. Edit :This is a pretty good deal though.

  • +1

A Tick or C Tick or some such.

This is what concerns me. As the radiation may turn out to be very dangerous.

Also, the included charger may not have the required safety certification (and the mandatory insulation on the pins).

I am sure that I would be the one charged with some crime and sued if a visiting child was injured or killed.

  • What is the comparable Samsung model for this handset? Samsung S3?
Trying to find out in GSM Arena but can't find this item.

    • +3

With the amount of issues the you can have with the bigger companies such as Samsung, HTC, Nokia, etc with firmware issues, build quality issues, durability how can you trust a "ZOPO"?? If it was $199.00 I think it might be worth the risk

      • +2

With the amount of issues the you can have with the bigger companies such as Samsung, HTC, Nokia, etc with firmware issues, build quality issues, durability

To this I would say "Then why would I pay the extra for their products?"

        • To this I would say "Then why would I pay the extra for their products?"

Local warranty, backed by the manufacturers?

        • Local warranty, backed by the manufacturers?

Doesn't mean much to me if it doubles the cost of the device. Might as well just buy two.

        • +1

Doesn't mean much to me if it doubles the cost of the device. Might as well just buy two.

I understood that the price difference quoted was around $200?

A three year warranty, backed by SAMSUNG Australia, may well be worth $200 to some people. For me, I would consider this warranty security to be worth $150 or less.

  • +1

Is this phone has 'schedule to power ON and Off'? so it can turn off and on the mobile phone by itself.

Are you planning to become a seller for THL? I will be your customer if you are.

    • I too would buy a W9 off of you if you were to import them and offer local warranty.

In fact i would probably buy a dozen for work.

  • Rep, how great is the display quality comparing Samsung's AMOLED, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z or iPhone's retina display?

  • Waiting until ebay GroupDeals offer this unit below $200. Is it possible?

  • I ould live w/ 8gb rom but 1gb*ram is just no, esp. at 240+$.
