  • It's US only, how do we get passed that?

    • +5

Add a random US address to your account, preferably from a state without taxes like Alaska.

      • Thanks @qiqi1021 - I gave them the address of my igloo

      • +1

I have a fake address in Florida and have never been charged sales tax before.

      • You only get charged tax if the address is in the same state as the company.

Done, thanks OP! I'm not used to this Alaskan weather though… ;)

  • Done - Purchased and activated on Steam. I think I have been waiting almost a year to purchase these at a super cheap price, cant believe I got both for $5.

  • Thanks! My old US Amazon and Steam account were still active!

spec ops shortest game in history but great storyline

      • +2

Took me about 7 hours, which is about average, and with such a unique storyline for a shooter, it's easily worth $5 IMO.

      • +1

Hardly the shortest game in history.

          mr serious

This game is amazing. Gameplay is usual 3rd person stuff, but it all becomes pretty meta as you go along, including the gameplay. Won't say anymore for fear of spoilers, but I do highly recommend it, the ending will give you chills.

lmao. dont post spoilers but they are everywhere on the web. haha

    • Crap, bought the bundle and now I have two copies of Bioshock 1 and 2!

      • Crap, bought the bundle sixteen times and now I have seventeen copies of Bioshock 1 and 2!

I think i just got it for free :S

    Subtotal of Items: $4.99
    Discounts/Promotions - $4.99

    Total before Tax: $0.00
    Sales Tax: $0.00

    Total for this Order: $0.00

What I did was tried to buy it with my AU address, and it came up with the error message, so down the bottom left it had a link to change shipping address.. typed in my holiday house in Alaska (ahem), went back to the payment page and the error message was gone but it was still at zero so I hit confirm order and free game!

Is using a false address like this illegal? Fraud? I'm getting nervous now haha.

Also can you activate the came codes on the steam website or do you need the client?

    • can anyone replicate?

      • Nope, did you add a code or anything?

        • Nope it was weird, the first time it showed 0.00 i thought was because of the error message, and the confirm order button was greyed out, but when the address changed and the error message went away, and the confirm order button was active it was still showing 0.00 so i dunno..

        • Have you got any Amazon gift cards on your account?

      • +1

I was able to replicate this. Was showing greyed out, changed my address to a fake US one and it let me purchase it for 0.00.

        Cheers.

        • Can someone give more instructions please? Haven't been able to replicate this.

        • +1

Doesn't work on my end. Must of had a promo on your account.

        • Tried several times and no joy here…

  • I still get the US only page. Can someone run me through how to add a US address?
EDIT: nevermind I figured it out.

more stuff for the Amazon summer sale over here also

Fair warning: the original Bioshock can be fiddly to get working well on a Win 7 or 8 machine, both loading issues and sound issues. You can get it working, and it might just work out of the gate, but there's a solid chance it won't.

    • Bummer

    • And the mouse movement is horrendous. I've given up every time.

      • I noticed that too but it wasn't as widely reported so I thought it might have been a far less common occurrence.

    • I was able to play Bioshock fine on Windows 7 x64 bit, gave up trying to get Bioshock 2 to stop crashing (after half a dozen supposed fixes), and just purchased a secondhand copy on the Xbox 360. Both were purchased through Steam.

  • +1

Has been this price a few times in the past. Does bioshock 2 still need GFWL?

    • Unfortunately yes, and GFWL can really be a pain especially with the initial setup

  • I finished both a couple of months ago using Win7 x64. No problems at all.

  • Bought. Thanks!
