  • I am after a 60 inch TV right now and would be interested to see what is their cost prices.

    • apparently this will be sold at $1137 on Saturday
      http://www.videopro.com.au/p-6339-lg-60pn6500-60-full-hd-pla…

      • Thanks. That is not much discount.

        • Um, its actually a great price as the TV costs nearly $1400~ everywhere else…

        • Bing Lee selling at $1290 delivered with 10% gift card:

          http://www.binglee.com.au/lg-60pn6500-60-full-hd-plasma-tv

        • Not bad didn't see it, but 10% off your next purchase, and $1137 is cheaper…
Also, do you trust a posted 60" TV rather than pick up in QLD ?

Nevertheless, I paid $1100 for my 42" nearly 2 yrs ago, so this price is amazing… lol

        • Every tv is transported by a truck at some point. I had 2 delivered to my door. Perfect. My boss got his 64 inch tv delivered without a mark on the box, 99% of the time it's fine,

        • Every tv is transported by a truck at some point.

True but to a store, we don't have Bing Lee stores in QLD, so any issues he encounters the poor chap has to post it back, have online and phone chats/headaches and wait, instead he rather pay less and grab it from a physical store down the road, and if anything stopped working or he's unhappy, just drive down are return it… ;)

It would be better to list the prices down for at least couple of items. Then people can decide if it's gonna be a deal or no deal.
The definition of cost is very broad and can be different from person to person.
I can remember at some period, the Retravision stores around me who calculated their cost as (direct cost + overhead) went busted and who thought it's direct cost and then bit of profit and sold in bigger numbers survived in hard time and managed to pay the salaries, rents, etc.
I can remember another business in SE melbourne had a closing down sale banner for close to 3 years until the banner faded out and their prices were ripoff even under the closing down banner.

    • Thanks for listing down prices for some items so that it makes sense.

Hmm good to list some prices.
As Cost Price depends on store and their agreements with the suppliers and how many they got to sell in order to get a good price.

So you might get a TV which costs the store $2000 since they sell like 5 of them a month, where as a big store like HN might get it for cost at $1500 because they sell like 500 of them a month.

They also have Supplier Rebates for selling more, like sell more than 5000 and we give you an extra 15% off.

So Cost Price is very subjective, and they can really set the price at any price if they want, and still say its cost price since its not standardized.

  • I found out this sale only applies to store stock and at the moment it seems most of the stores do not have any stock of the newer sony tvs

Cost plus = cost of buying the item + overheads + water + gas + electricity + warehouse storage + advertisement + final 1 dollar . Till the end? cheaper by RRP by 10% …..

Cost price deals are always BS.

    • Their previous sales have had some good prices, so this one might too.

  • Checked the price for the Lumix DMCTZ40 camera, not sure about the cost+$1 thing but the deal is quite good even compare to grey imports. I may just go DFO this weekend to check what the cost price for my Sony RX100 is.

    Denon AVR2113BK $663
I've seen this model in lower $500 range, if that's their cost price then they'll need to either cut cost or go out of business.
