  • Looks like it's going to be an Ozbargain meetup. :D

  • thanks, got my tickets

    • I tweeted and then got a message saying congratulations on the screen with the preview. They said they would be in touch. No email yet. Any idea how long it takes? Has anyone received email confirmation?

      • I must have applied for my tickets (QLD) around the same time as you (voteoften) and I still haven't received any email yet.
        Have you?

        • If the screen now shows sold out then they must be keeping some sort of track of the numbers. There's still a chance that we may not have won, but I'd say it is more likely than not, just based on the fact that they show sold out now.

Winners of the draw will be notified of their Prize by phone and email on Tuesday 16 July.

Spare a thought for the winners of unclaimed prizes. They may not get notification until two day after the screenings have taken place.

If a Prize remains unclaimed at Tuesday 16 July 13:00 (AEST), an unclaimed prize draw
will take place on 16 July 2013 at 14:00 (AEST). The Winner will be notified within 2 days of the draw.

        • Haha. Fair enough. I guess I was just thrown by easternculture's original comment.
I would be nice to know if I was successful ASAP as opposed to the actual day of the event… Or am I being picky…
          Thanks for the knowledge.

  • 36 left in Adelaide

  • -4

Not enough tickets, they should off least a thousand per state.

  • Erm why the negs? More tickets = more sessions for people= free tickets to see the movie. just don't understand some of you.

    • it's an advanced screeing, generally speaking they don't have thousands of tickets available, usually enough to fill one screening, which they've done in this instance!

  • Great, just picked up a couple for Adelaide. Hopefully some sort of confirmation comes through. Shoulda added #OzB to the Tweet see the Twitter feed to see what proportion actually heard about it via this site rather than other means. Hoping the film is good, initial reviews seem pretty promising!

    • I follow roadshow so I saw it there first, got my tickets then looked on here and saw it here, only 4 tickets had been taken up prior to it being put on here ;0)

  • Stil haven't received the tickets yet…

  • Just got an e-mail there confirming I have won two passes :) WA screening.

  • I just got an email as well.

  • Just got my invite

  • just got invite, says name should be on the doorlist but I do not remember giving my name? and the form only asks for email, phone number and tweet?

  • +1

    same, go mine

    Sydney meetup ?

[email protected] is the contact person. Im going to email her (and forward the confirmation email) with my name just to be on the safe side.

    • Let me know what she replies with, I'm wondering whether they noted down the names on our Twitter accounts..? ^^" XD

Also, it's on Tuesday, yay. Gonna get some $1 hotdogs at www.sodafactory.com.au beforehand. XD

      • My twitter name is [XXXX] Jigsaw

Yeh .. imagine that on the list

        • I've seen you haha

    • did you get a response??

  • Ohhh so it's by twitter name ? What's the point of using Id to confirm ?
My twitter name is pretty absurd

  • Hmmm anyone else still haven't got their invite yet?

  • Eh, it seems seats have opened up for NSW, SA, and WA? The site is working again.. Or is it just me. ._.

  • I got my invite but gf doesn't want to see it…two best other options can't make it due to short notice either :s

So if any ozbargainer here in BrisVegas wanted to go but missed out…you can be my date for the night :D

  • so I guess you have to quote the twitter name at the door

    • yeah and show ID, I found a friend to come along too so you just missed out sorry

  • oh I already have tickets for Sydney, wasn't replying to your post. Not sure why they want ID though, we did not give them our names??

  • so yeah movie was FREAKIN SCARY! o.O

  • +1

didn't find it that scary really, one of the better horror films to come out in recent years though.

  • yeah good movie! classic horror film

  • +1

This movie is not scary at all. It simply relies on loud, sudden sound effects and jump cuts to scare you. Quite lazy. And no one died but a dog and some birds?!? The characters were not put into mortal danger unlike, for examples, the Exorcist and the Omen.

And the devil/witch is so stupid. In the final showdown, all it has to do is blew out the solitary electric light bulb and then it is game over for all the characters. It did it once early in the movie, so why didn't it do it again?

Also disappointed that no one said hello to me at the Sydney screening even though I wore my OzBargain T-shirt.

    • +1

I agree. My twitter review was "The Conjuring was like that old fun park ride - yeah, it's a bit scary, but I've been on it a few times before. #TheConjuringAU"

Too many jumps, not enough creeps. And yes, it ended weakly and abruptly. My +1 (who hates scary movies) ran away though, heh…

    • thanks for the spoiler :(

      • I thought about not posting my comment this morning. However, this expired thread is about getting free tickets to watch the preview, and so whoever is reading these comments now would have likely seen the movie already.
