  • does anyone know how fast this thing is?

i'm getting sick of my old crappy usb flash drives…can anyone recommend a fast / affordable one?

    • Have got a Data Traveller 100 in 8GB and the speed is reasonable although it is nothing like a Corsair Voyager. Bought this one under the assumption that it is at least as fast as the DT100 if not a bit faster, given it is a newer model. Found it very difficult to find a review/test of the 120 model though.

Having said that, the DT100 was usually not listed as 'Hi-Speed' where as this one is. Not that it means much I suppose but in the US there is a DT200 model that seems to have much faster speeds than the DT100 so if this model is somewhere in the middle I'm happy.

  • thanks gabbyh. yeah i tried googling specs / reviews on this drive and the best I found were a few positive reviews from Buy.com users…good enough for me to try out for $19! i'll have to try out the voyager next time i spose

*note: there is a 57cent credit card surcharge :D

    • By all means put in the links to buy.com where you found the reviews. Found the Corsair Voyagers to be very fast and reliable drives but unfortunately they do not have a retractable USB plug. There is the Voyager Mini but that 8GB model is still $35+delivery hence the $19 inclusive of delivery wins in this case.

  • sold out already…sigh

    • That was quick. With some previous specials 9289 got more stock and activated the deal again. Let's see what happens.

  • It's annoying me as hell when manufacturers don't list the spec properly. Where's the read/write speed? Who freaking care about operating/storage temperatures? It's like they have something to hide. I can forgive it if this is coming from some unknown yumcha brand, but Kingston is a well known brand for years.
Anyway, this is a decent price and together with free shipping got +ve from me.

  • SOLD OUT - 21-3-09

  • Sold out already, makes you visit the site though, Hmmm

    • If it is indeed sold out it would have been the quickest ever that a 9289 deal was finished. Hmmm…

  • in stock!

  • Yup, back in stock. This is a good price, considering I paid this amount for a 1GB Kingston a year ago.

    Thanks gabbyh!

  • Now says the product was not found

  • Still sold out

  • Has anyone received theirs yet? or even a shipping confirmation?

  • hey, received mine this morning.

testing it out now, really disappointed with the speeds!
    it's averaging about 5MB/sec.

guess you can't really complain with $19 delivered. happy with 9289 service and delivery though.

  • Mine's in shipping. And just realized, they're back in stock too for those that didn't manage to get one previously.

  • Got mine, pretty quick delivery.

  • Oh…missed it again. Sigh.
