540 x 960 pixels resolution, 190ppi for 5.8inch model very shitty, 6.3inch model slightly better resolution,Not sure why Samsung provide this kind of product line…

Australian market SAMSUNG 'phones have a two year warranty backed by the manufacturer. Not saying that it is not a good price.

OP perhaps I am overly suspicious, but I can't see your ABN/ACN on your website.

Also, after viewing your domain registration details:-

    Domain Name: exponline.com.au
    Last Modified: 12-Jul-2013 15:20:42 UTC
    Registrar ID: GoDaddy
    Registrant: Exp Australia Pty. Ltd
    Eligibility Type: Company
Eligibility Name: Exp Australia Pty. Ltd
    Eligibility ID: ACN 164640886

I could not find that ACN or the company name in a search at business.gov.au I have not as yet checked ASIC records.

Are these 'phones Australian market models, with A-Tick certifications, and with warranties supported by SAMSUNG Australia?

    Thanks.

    EDIT:

Apologies OP. I see that this is a brand new business/company, seemingly only registered last week. So, not yet on business.gov.au

    Name: EXP AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD.
    ACN: 164 640 886
    Registration date: 3/07/2013

    • In fact they de-registered their previous ABN then register the current one.

      • In fact they de-registered their previous ABN then register the current one.

        Strange. Why?

As I understand the 'phones are sent from overseas directly to the buyers (or in a very small minority of cases to a pick up place near Sydney's central station), I wonder what the legal position would be as regards any problems that might occur?

Always be prepared to kiss your money or warranty rights goodbye when dealing with dodgey businesses like this. Obviously there is some shonky operation going on, no other business constantly changes their ABN and domain registrars.

a-tick, another form of monopoly if you shook hands with the govt. many years ago

there is only one company in australia certifying and supplying a-tick phones to the oligopolies

talk about the gazillion dollars industry.

      • a-tick, another form of monopoly if you shook hands with the govt. many years ago

        What are you talking about?

It is a set of standards. USA has FCC. Europe has its standards. As do other countries/markets such as Japan, Canada, Singapore, and Korea.

there is only one company in australia certifying and supplying a-tick phones to the oligopolies

Nonsense. All mobile phone manufacturers doing legal business in Australia supply A-Tick certified phones. Apple, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, etc.

If you were also referring to the labs that do the testing, there are now many - in Australia and elsewhere in the world.

  • The tech specs for the s4 mini is incorrect on your site rep.
LTE frequencies are those used for 3g and HSPA+

    • Hi tech specs has been corrected, thanks.

  • Seems busy Rep

  • Why is the S4 so much more expensive then the samsung mega? Samsung mega crap resolution?

    • +1

The same reason the iPad mini is cheaper than the iPad, your paying for old tech. Screen size aside the camera isn't as good, the processor isn't as good, resolution isn't as good (but you seriously won't notice the resolution. 720p for a phone/tablet sized screen is nuts).

Personally I think it's the kind of phone you need to handle to see if its right for you due to the size but it would be great for people who use phones and tablets to be able to consolidate.

Also I would be concerned about the ABN issue that's been pointed out, I'm not sure how it goes legally but they've stated 2 years local support/warranty but if they change their ABN again would they legally have to honour this?

      • Also I would be concerned about the ABN issue that's been pointed out, I'm not sure how it goes legally but they've stated 2 years local support/warranty but if they change their ABN again would they legally have to honour this?

        Not just this.

Just who is one buying from? The site says that one can pay by bank deposit, and that the bank details will be displayed at checkout - but this is not true.

The only payment method is by PayPal. This may be an overseas based PayPal account.

I believe that there would be no Fair Trading protection as the purchases would be deemed to be an overseas transaction/purchase with the buyer being the importer.

  • Has anyone bought anything from this mob before? Very tempting since I need a new phone atm but all this abn mystery is quite a turn off

Do you want a phone with a two year warranty backed by the manufacturer (in Australia). Where, if needed, genuine parts will be used by factory trained technicians?

If so, buy an Australia Market phone, with the required safety certification.

Who wants to buy from a no frill website?

No review found from these sites. Do more research before handling your money over to some unknown seller!

        Hi Rep/OP

Good to see you back here.

How about answering a few of the questions?

From whom is one buying? (An Australian company?)

Where is ones payment going? (An Australian PayPal account?)

        Who receives the payments?

Are the phones sent from outside Australua? (Making the buyer a private importer).

Do the invoices supplied identify the Australian Company as the seller/supplier?

If so (as above) do the invoices include GST?

Do warranty returns get returned overseas at your cost to be repaired/replaced by Samsung (genuine parts used by Samsung Technicians)?

If not (see above) do you pay for repair/replacement by Samsung Australia?

Note that I understand that customers must cover the cost of return to your Sydney Company address (assuming here that it is your address, and not Taft of a friend, or relative, or agent).

You have stated that the phones are brand new and still sealed. However, you also stated that Australian chargers are include. Ate these charges packed separately?

        Thanks.

        • Why did you bother asking all these questions..

These guys don't care, they just know they'll make sales by spamming any crap on here.

  • AN EDIT for my post just above.

    Of course:-

"(assuming here that it is your address, and not Taft of a friend, or relative, or agent).
    Should have been
"(assuming here that it is your address, and not that of a friend, or relative, or agent)."

    and

    "Ate these charges packed separately?"
    Should have been
    "Are these chargers packed separately."
