I strongly suspect that they have filtered out the free email hosters like hotmail, yahoo, etc.
From the people I know, only 1 person got it and had used the company email.

Hmm, in the many years I've been with ING, I've cycled through quite a few e-mail addresses. I tried the ones that I could remember and there were all "not Registered!".
Has anyone contacted TLC or ING directly yet?

Nope, I didn't sign up for any events and it didn't work. Regardless ING is aware of the issue and are checking with the TLC people.

Just got one. For all those having trouble it might be because you're using a mobile device. Tried on the phone and it said valid email address is required, but worked fine on the laptop. Similar thing also happens when using the 2 for 1 movie voucher deal from ING.
Nope, I tried it on two computers initially, then a mobile device - all three failed until I directly contacted ING.
Other way round for me - wouldn't work until I tried on my phone.

After being on hold for 10 minutes, I was told they were aware of the problem and that it is being fixed. I was told to try again later in the afternoon.
But my email is still showing up as not registered.
