  • Loving the new laptop! thanks Sam and MegaBuys!

If anyone is new to Apple like me, I installed Windows 8.1 Preview using Bootcamp. Works and looks great at this resolution!

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/preview-downloa…

    1. Download ISO
    2. Copy to Apple Desktop
    3. Search for Bootcamp Assistant.
    4. Follow the prompts.
  • Hi Sam do you still anymore apple care for this macbook retina could you post link again please thanks.

  • Hi Guys,

I received my MBP today and typed in serial No. on apple website for warranty checking, how come I could not find anything.
Do i have to activate my mac before i do so?? Or Has anyone check their MBP warranty status online as yet?

I could always check warranty on my ipad or iphone before activation.

    • +1

Shouldn't have to. Did you try here:

      http://selfsolve.apple.com/

and made sure there's no "Ohs" or "Els" in the serial number?

      • Hi Quarry,

Have you bought one of these? Can you check warranty status after activation.

As i have tried my and also two of my firends', none of the 3 x serial numbers can be found on apple website.

Serial number is total 12 digits. And I evened called apple and get them to check the serial number for me.

I think i will have to take product to apple store for checking.

You could check warranty status at any time. Are you saying the Apple website doesn't recognise the serial number at all?

Do you have a barcode scanner (or app for a smartphone)? You may need to ignore the first "S". Try again on the Apple website. Shouldn't matter even if it isn't Australian stock as that website doesn't care.

        • I will try a barcode scanner, but serial number definitely does not work…

        • Guys,

You need to validate the purchase date by uploading the invoice. If you read earlier in the thread a few of us went through this already.

From what I understand it's because it's an older model. Not MegaBuy's fault.

You'll get your invoice a day or two after delivery.

I submitted my invoice and the apple site was updated (you get email notification) in a couple of hours with my standard warranty plus AppleCare.

  • Could anyone share where they shipping these from please? Do they dispatch from Brisbane?
    Thanks

    • Shipping from Brendale QLD 4500

      • Thanks

  • Just wanted to say I received my order and I'm very happy. Email updates were spot on and I got my macbook pro in 4 business days. The only room for improvement I can suggest is a tracking number to be provided.. other than that, 100% happy with the overall experience with MegaBuy - Thank you!

    • Hi there,

Could you try and see if you could track warranty status on apple website, as i could not find anything linked to my mbp serial number arrived today..

      • You get the invoice a day or two later. Once you get the invoice, check your serial online and it'll say you'll need to validate the purchase date with the invoice. Go through that process and you'll upload the invoice too. Then it gets updated so you get all these nice green ticks.

If you read the whole thread you'd have read that a few of us went through this already.

  • I have received the order as well. Awesome. Very fast delivery
    very happy)

Megabuy appeared to cancel my order after ~24 hours of non-payment.

Was planning on making a bank transfer/payment tonight.

    Poor form.

Same happened to me, except I had actually paid for it 5 minutes after buying it. No more Megafail for me.

      • The cynic in me thinks they're after the extra 1-2% (in profit) from CC/Paypal fees.

  • Order received yesterday, all good very happy customer. look forward to shopping with you again.
    Cheers
    also super quick delivery :)

  • Anyone in Perth received theirs yet?

    • hey will,

Im from perth too. I ordered mine on 19/7 and it was shipped 23/7. Waiting for it still. I heard that they charge second delivery charges if you are not there at the nominated shipping address during delivery so I'm hoping to get home from work by midday today.

    • Still nothing…

      • Same here.. :(

  • :( not happy, they cancal my order.

We have all the information to do a refund as requested,

The refund is just going through the processes and should be in your account within the next 24-48 hours.

    Thank you,

    Regards,
    Michael Belesky

  • No more Megafail for me.

    • Yep, cancelling people's orders within ~12 hours of placing the order is not on. Especially considering I sent them a message stating bank payment would be made the following day (as we placed the order the night before). Will be negging their next deal to alert others.

  • Just got mine! It's amazing and I'm so happy I got such a great bargain. Brand new packaging. Setting my very first MacBook Pro now! definitely will buy from Megabuy again:)
