KIA Sportage Series 2 from $24,486 Driveaway with 1 Year Rego

140

Some good deal for anyone looking to buy a Kia Sportage Series 2. I just bought one before the sale for the Si Series 2 Auto and after 1 week of bargaining, I got it for $27350 driveaway with 3 mats, tint and 6 month rego.

Now without bargaining, you can get the same car for $26625 driveway with 12 month rego, which I am sure there is some room for a bit more bargaining. (Yes, I feel ashamed of myself for been an Ozbargainer and yet unable to get the best price………..I failed the lot of you…..Feel free to neg me……lol)

Here is some user review just in case you are in the market for a well priced SUV:

  • RRP is $25,490 so I wouldn't consider $1k off RRP to be a bargain per se. I also think it's particularly poor value for money considering you can buy a 2.0L Kia Cerato for $17,990 drive-away.

    • +2

you forget to add dealer delivery, stamp duty, licence. all that is about $2500 - $3000 on top

      • As I mentioned, Cerato is $18k on road. Sportage is just a Cerato with a little bit of extra ground clearance. It doesn't even have 4WD.

        • The Platinum only comes in 4WD.

        • +6

Why must a vehicle have 4wd these days? It's only a heap of extra weight and adds more cost to servicing. 100% pointless.

        • Why must a vehicle have 4wd these days?

          Ego.

        • "Why must a vehicle have 4wd these days?" - Exactly. As I mentioned, Cerato is $18k on road. (3rd time now).

        • +1

to drive over the poor people when taking the children to school.

        • You need to compare apples with apples. Like goodonservice has stated, you're comparing the RRP to a driveaway price, so there's a $3.5k-$4k saving right off the bat, rather than the $1k you've stated.

You might think the Cerato is a better buy than the Sportage, but that doesn't diminish the value of the OP's post. Choice of car can be a subjective thing, and lots of car shoppers might have valid reasons for choosing the Sportage over the Cerato (just as your opinion is valid too). For example, according to Kia's own specs, the Cerato has 495 litres of boot space, while the Sportage has 564 litres that expands to 1353 litres with the seats down. That's just one point of difference.

        • Cerato price is drive-away.

        • I think you've missed my (and goodonservice's) point.

In your initial post, you said:
"RRP is $25,490 so I wouldn't consider $1k off RRP to be a bargain per se"

We were just trying to point out that you're comparing the driveaway price highlighted here by the OP to the RRP - hence the saving is significantly more than the $1k you've suggested.

  • Thanks I'm almost decided on it now and off to buy my 1st car! Only thing is What's the diffeence between Si and SLi?

I have a 2011 Kia Sportage Platinum and I love it. Bought for $39,000 drive away including metalic paint, side step, nudge bar and cargo. Now, with much less $$35K, you have more: sat nav, seat warmer for back passegers, HID light, coner active light,…. Best value SUV car under $40K. The only thing I am not so sure about is: the engine, down from 2.4 Lt petrol down to 2Lt. Have they know mistake Mazda CX 5 made? The engine was too small (2Lt), and now they have to increase it to 2.4lt.

    • What does the nudge bar do?

      • +5

        Park assist.

    • still 122kw is better than most other same 2l car in its class. love the car when i test drive it. lol

    • 2.0L engine is a joke. US model gets 2.4L for $19k, and optional 2.0L turbo with 200 kW. If I was spending over $30k on a Kia I would get the Optima. I wouldn't even be looking at the Sportage.

      • +1

If anyone sees any good deals on the Kia Optima please dont be shy!!:)
You get more accessories than cars at twice the price!

Thanks for posting a rare automotive deal, OP…

  • I was in the market for an SUV.

The Sportage was 'on the list'.

It was eliminated at Day 1 because :

    1) It's a K.I.A

  • My advice to you, next time buy a brand new car is call around. Get the lowest price and call another dealer ask them to beat it. After u get the lowest, go and see them, ask for $500 less + accessories.

My experience>> after calling the car dealers in Melbourne, I bought my Camry Atara last year for $30k Drive away, interest free 4 yrs, cap service etc.

Btw, it was my mate idea…..it save me quite a bit of money.

p.s. don't worry about the windows tint/alarm etc. it is far much cheaper to get it done later by yourself.

    • +1

Oh lovely, a Camry Atara with the classy grey plastic grille. Is it flat white too? Should have got a Kia Optima or i45, better car in every way and same price.

I have a Sportage and like it. If you're a car enthusiast or wish to have some prestige cred, it's not the car for you. For me it's comfortable, has all the bells and whistles I could want and drives comfortably. 2.0L petrol works fine for me.
