It's not exactly free, you have to do fund raising to be eligible…

As far as I can tell your child gets a free fundraising page when you sign them up. However if you don't do any fundraising, there is no penalty, but your child won't win the fundraising prize. There are also prizes for the five children who complete the most books and lessons, which I assume does not require any fundraising.

So it's my impression that this deal is for a 5 week free trial (instead of the standard two week free trial), and the trial allows kids to get hooked to the AU$79.95/yr subscription (book packs additional).

and the trial allows kids to get hooked to the AU$79.95/yr

My kids have already done the trials and they definitely didn't get hooked. No way I'd pay that yearly fee when they'll only use it once a week or so…

Fundraiser - I already have one similar at work. This is not an appropriate forum.

I swear to god these people are the worst spammers in history.

Its fine when your kids are actually using the program, but once you let your subscription lapse, batten down the hatches because you will be getting "last chance" offers almost every day.
