  • cheap!

  • looks good, interested to know more about it…

Yep, once someone posts a receipt or shows on website, I'm in.

    13A is newer version.

the 23" version of 13A is IPS versus old one 12A is non full HD , non IPS.
so the IPS version is pretty good. down side….. 3.5 star rating versus old one was 5 star ……. at 120W 3.5 star i think it's ok…..

    • +1

they revised the star rating system in 2010/2011, probably should check the power usage figures instead.

    • +1

It's 40W, older one is 60W. Like beatlock said they have revised energy rating system to keep up with newer and more efficient appliances.

  • Went into Jb Hifi Adelaide City on my break and can confirm that these are $349. There was a huge display near the front of the store. Not too sure about picture quality though.

    • +7

Meaning you didn't see the picture quality or you don't think much of the picture quality?

    • one of the guys actually admitted to me in the store, the picture quality on cheaper TVs is actually lowered to make the more expensive ones look better, very happy with my soniq at home…

    • Very similar I would say, except it is available now.

  • Interesting in knowing more about it. What its energy rating and dynamic contrast ratio? (6 star and 5,000,000:1????)

    • means you can only go up to super saiyan x 3, 5,000,000:1 is you power level

  • +1

Only available in store, not online, according to a store rep.

Someone, specs already… Who's going to late night and could stop by JB HI-FI on there way?

I bought this TV a couple weeks ago but never posted it on here as I didn't think it was a deal. Just normal price really…

I only use it for gaming on my ps3 and I think it's great! Excellent picture but you really need to turn sharpness down to about 23 or so. Slight adjustment here and there with colour/brightness and all good.

I can't comment on the inbuilt tuner though as I don't use that function. If you need a basic FHD TV for gaming and watching some movies on this is the perfect set.

    ftp://ftp.quatius.com.au/Manuals/E40W13A-AU.pdf

I think this may be the manual? Model number shows E40W13A-AU. Has the specs on the last page.

Looks like some basic stats about the tv:
      - 50Hz/60Hz refresh rate
      - Static Contrast ratio 4,000:1 (not the best but it will likely mean theres a dynamic contrast ratio of 4,000,000:1 - which isn't bad for this kind of TV).

      Couldn't find energy consumption

      • The power consumption listed in the pdf is 100W. A bit disappointing when a lot of 2013 models from various manufacturers claim to have TV sets that consume 44W to 60W even for their budget models.

    • save me the dl is it a smart tv or does it have a built in PVR?

  • What's the input lag like on these?

I ended up buying this TV from Bigw. picture quality is perfect.

  • Popped in to JB today for this. Did not buy it because the display is very unsmooth. View angle is not so good either.

    • see my post above…although that wont help viewing angle…

  • Stopped by jb on the way home. Was not impressed with the image quality it was very grainy. Its not a smart tv just a regular TV. Poor viewing angle as well.

    Did not buy it.

  • I'll never buy a Soniq TV again. I don't care how cheap it is.

    • +4

Why? Did the tv make your eyes pop like that?

  • So obviously not an IPS display if the viewing angle is shocking? Might check out in store today.

  • Here is the actual link of the add updated today on JB Hifi online website:

I am thinking to buy one. Has anyone bought yet? please give some feedback.

    • I bought one on Monday, very impressed for the price. Blu ray looks fantastic, no ghosting and viewing angles are acceptable. In built speakers aren't that great, but there is an optical out for external speakers. Worth checking out in store if you aren't sure still/

      • Thanks. I'm gonna buy one tomorrow then. could u also plz suggest me an inexpensive Bluetooth headphones/ear-buds which will work fine with this tv?

        • There is no headphone out socket on this tv, only optical out. You will need and adapator (optical to 3.5mm), and from there you should be able to use any sound device you want

        • ermmm… optical to 3.5 would need an amplifier or digital to analoge converter, (not just an adaptor)

there are a few devices that such a connector exists for- but thats only because the device has both analogue and digital sound, IE metal pins for the analogue, and the LED for optical - I doubt this TV would or it would come with the connection.

        • Well yes, that's what I meant. Whatever provides optical to 3.5mm

        • Thanks guys. u r so helpful. So,I need these two to be able to use headset/traditional speakers set:
          Optical to RCA:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Digital-to-Analog-Audio-Converter…

          RCA to 3.5mm (female):
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/High-Quality-2-RCA-to-3-5mm-Femal…

And if I want to use a Blutetooth headset then this one:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-5mm-Wireless-Bluetooth-A2DP-Ste…

          what do u say guys?

  • Just out of curiosity is it a bad thing that it isn't to 60hz or 120hz?
