Anyone know if the S-View covers is original? because on ebay, generic ones is much cheaper

  • +9

bought from them last time, got a fake cover case (damaged and dirty also) and a battery that weighs slightly different to my original samsung battery.
emailed them about this and no reply.
    would not recommend.

    • same…

Although, nothing against Uniquemobiles, as no where on that page, does it say "Genuine".

Not all AUS stock is genuine :) normally if the word is not present, it's not genuine.

      • But if it is sold by an Australian retailer and is identical with the Samsung geniune battery wouldn't it be misleading the consumers? I think if it sells an iPhone without stating it is geniune but looks identical with the geniune Apple iPhone I bet Apple has already sent it to the court.

      • they state RRP as $59, "our" price $29.
misleading. generics do not cost $59.

  • +3

in spec.. it says generic, they wouldn't say that if it was genuine..in regards to case

  • +1

    Hmm.. A bit dodgy.
Might be a fake as far as i'm concerned.

  • Someone previously commented that the Samsung store in Sydney will give free replacement batteries in store. Haven't tried it myself.

    • If you purchased non-genuine batteries?

  • +2

I wouldn't buy that; If I was after genuine stuff.

  • So is it genuine or not?
    No negs…

$15 for a genuine SGS IV battery….yeah, and the pope ain't Catholic.

  • +1

16 positives, none of the comments are '+'s :/

    Don't know whether to order.

    • Don't let your bargain rule your head.

    • +1

well of course they aint going to be genuine.

So you will be running a risk by using them…

Google how much of a risk it will be and then only you can decide if it's "worth" it or not.

Well then awesome! Sure makes me feel better about purchasing it.

I looked at my battery and it didnt look the same as the pic. But that may not be important.

..Buy the new cheap Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 N7105 Battery 3100mAh with Samsung warranty from Unique Mobiles online.

why would they call it the new 'cheap' samsung

        • +1

If you're worried you can try Anker batteries. Them's the real deal. Been using it in an SGS2 for a year now and it still holds it's charge. (You get 2 in a pack, usually)

        • +1

I agree. I am also using the anker one for my S2 and its really good. More capacity than original samsung. They are safe as well. Better buy it. U have to order from US.

        • where can you buy these for the S2?

I've got my original battery in my S2 .. after 2 years of use and its just terrible.. =\

have to charge it 2-3 times a day

        • +1

          US ebay.

though genuine batteries can be bought for less.

        • +1

It was shipped from US, bought via ebay.

I bought a 2-pack battery (comes with a charger for it, but I've never used it) for $18 last year, so that works out to be $9 per battery. Don't know why it was so cheap at the time, but I think I scored a bargain.

The prices are massively inflated now and they cost more than original batteries, which is a bit of a shame. I'd still recommend them though, over other generic 'brands'.

        • So, is this the right one for my s3? (If seller will ship to Oz.)
          http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=121153465816&…

        • +1

i emailed the seller regarding shipping via USPS.

"I would be willing to ship to Australia if you cover shipping. It looks like it would be $23.95 through a flat-rate box (Priority Mail). If you'd prefer another method, let me know and I can price it.
Input is AC100-240V, so yes, 240 volts should be okay."

      • I thought genuine batteries were around the $15-20 mark? Not saying these batteries are genuine but that was what I thought. (around $5 for generic)

        • which makes it all the more of a bad deal if they aren't genuine, which is looking increasingly likely

  • I'd rather buy a battery pack that will go with me even when I change phones.

  • I don't think the term "Aus Stock" applies to phone covers (No A-Tick program for covers);
besides it say generic in specifications.
So they have just placed "Aus Stock" Logo on everything.

  • +2

Sorry guys, I didn't know if the batteries are genuine Samsung and Australia stock or not.

I bought 3 batteries assuming they are genuine, so I really hope they are now.

  • +1

    Think these guys are slipping.

Emailed them twice last week about whether an item was instock and they have ignored me.

I will ignore them with my business.

Just a quick question about PayPal dispute, anyone experienced receiving generic batteries when the site advertised genuine. In the end, any chance a dispute through PayPal manage to get a full refund?

    • There is a chance, but you would have to provide proof that they are fake. Not sure it would be worth the effort trying to get documentation from Samsung saying it's fake.

  • Beware of the so called genuine Apple USB charger, they are 5w instead of 12w for lightening which wont charge your iPad at all. They advertise it charges iPad is misleading. I bought a geniune 5w Apple USB charger for $1 at DSE not long ago so it is up to you decide if the so called geniune lightning cable alone is worth $19.

    • Well… technically it will charge the iPad, just at a very slow rate and take a very long time.

  • So does anyone know how much a genuine Samsung s4 battery weighs ?

  • Also keen on finding out if the flip covers are genuine if anyone knows?

  • So does anyone know where I can get a genuine Galaxy S2 battery? I don't mind paying more for the real thing. Thanks.

Mobileciti had it on sale 1/2 year ago for $20+. Not sure they still have any stocks left. Otherwise try your luck calling Telstra Shop, they had it on clearance for $25 about a year ago. Search ozbargain for these deals previously posted here. Good luck. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/70663

Nope. All these ebay batteries are junk, and in extreme cases can even cause damage to your phone/property. Either get genuine batteries, or from some of the big names (can be found on amazon).

    • +1

Spend a bit more and get this. The battery itself also comes with NFC.

4300mah when they were new maybe… But most lithium batteries on eBay are recycled from old batteries. (Unless stated otherwise, or "genuine" from a reputable brand)

Just gave unique mobiles a call and spoke to lauren who assured my that they are genuine and that if I have any issues to give them a call back. Genuine stock but comes hong kong.
I asked her if they only last half the time compared to my original ones then are they considered faulty and she said that they can offer a refund if that is the case.

Mine arrived. Initial examination looks fine but fakes are very good these days.

I bought the S4 battery and the serial is
    AA1D608KS/2-B

It says S/N (serial) and not batch number so should be unique. Anyone else have the same or different number?

    • It says S/N (serial) and not batch number so should be unique. Anyone else have the same or different number?

According to this xda user (ignore the massive quote box) the serial number is actually a batch number.

Does the NFC work on the battery? If it does, then you most likely have a genuine one. Many fake batteries do not have NFC capable batteries, particularly ones that are disguised as Samsung OEM parts.

mine arrived today. No packaging just battery in australia post padded bag.

    EB595675LU 3100mAh
    S/N: AA1D630VS/2-B

    did the
Method 5: Check the battery's internal parameters
Enter your cell phones "* # 0228 #", the original battery generally can display manufacturer, capacity, voltage, temperature and other information. Press the "^" button on the navigation keyboard to page up, the percentage displaying in the bottom of the page is the remaining capacity. The assembled battery does not display electric battery manufacturer, capacity.

seems to have similar temp and voltage

also checked out this youtube clip and peeled the sticker. I seems legit.

Guess have to test it for next couple of days to find out

Please post back how it goes.

To be honest it discharges in a similar rate to my original battery. I am curious as to why my serial number S/N: AA1D630VS/2-B is different to leyton01 AA1D608KS/2-B

      • +2

okay after the first day use I had 13hr 40mins on battery going from 88% charge down to 13% charge. Moderate usage with top 4 items being screen 43% Android System 11% and Android OS 11%. Wifi on most of the time except about 2hrs on 4g.

Annoyed that after charging for 3 hours it said 98% charge then I took it off charge and when I put the new battery back on it said 88% charge.
Also my average maximum temp for battery was about 34 degrees Celsius but new battery had a maximum temp of 40.9 degrees. Which would make it discharge faster I suppose.

Anyways my best guess is that it is a 'genuine' battery as I get about 90% of usage compared to my original battery.

Just noticed that they had it on sale again for this weekend if anyone is wondering.

        • where's the sale exactly? the code doesnt work. Cheers

        • sorry they sent me an email with mobile packages but not the note 2 battery so apologies for that. Sale based on something along the lines of EKKA royal queensland show 2013 sale from 8th to 17th August
