Should probably change the title. It is $9.95 shipping.

The email stated Only "$9 RC Flying Shark - More New Bargains with $1 Shipping", implying that it is the other bargains (not the RC shark) with $1 shipping.

Grab a couple to make your own sharknado

  • Purely out of curiosity, where does one buy helium in small quantities from? As in, enough just for this balloon.

    • Party shops sell them.. you should check them out

      • Thanks for that! :)

9 odd bux shipping :-( eBay cheaper total

Now give me a deal on the helium..

    • You just wanna breathe it in, don't you?

Just remember there are two types, Infrared and radio remote control, the Infrared is inferior and cheap.

  • Where on earth do you get the helium from for a reasonable price?
I've looked around and the cheapest I can find is $30 for 3 day hire.

    • Where did you find it for $30? And how much does that get you?
I have one of these toys, but have not found somewhere to fill it at a reasonable cost. I estimate it needs 200 litres of helium.

An alternative is hydrogen, but making that quantity of hydrogen is not a trivial task.
All I remember from school chemistry is zinc + 2HCl -> H2 + ZnCl2. We are talking 10 moles, so 650g ish of zinc, and a litre of conc HCl from the swimming pool supplies section.

      Anybody got a better idea?

And $19 is just the normal ebay price, so no deal.

These are not good outdoors anyway. Large and low power. You might as well release an unpowered balloon upwind.

My sister got one of these for xmas.. Best 10 mins I had for a while.. Until it floated outside and swam into the horizon.
