BEATS BY DR. DRE Beats Executive (@ $279.30) + free delivery

40

A name brand pair of headphones which you can be assured of high sound quality. Amazon has them for a higher price now (due to the lower Aussie foreign exchange rate) and JB HiFi have them for $399.

A must buy for bassheads!

      Cue. Its "cue".

Maybe he wanted people to hate in an orderly fashion?

      • oops "Cue" lol and I'm a she, there are some on here you know :0P, we also love bargains

      • Quo vadis?
        To Kew.
        Cue?
        No Kew.
        Queue?
        Ah!

        proscratinating

        • What about simply "Q"?

        • A fan of Star Trek?

    • Let me fix that for you:

Queue the haters …. If you like the way they look, it's a great price!

  • How do the Beats Executive stack up against the Studios and Solos. Just wondering as my cheapie pair of Sony MDR-XD100s are almost dead and I'm looking for an upgrade.

    • +1

I hate to say this… But they are significantly better than the Solos, but do cost about $100 more in this case.

Ok, I always advise against beats, but having tried these headphones, I can say they are ok for the majority, the base is perfect, not muddy like the studios. The highs and mids are… Meh.

If you must have beats, these are the ones to go for.

      • +2

Totally Agree. Beats won't be or never will be my first choice. However if the price is right I'll snap them up.

  • A must buy for nappyheads!*

$277 at HN. Free pick up

    • +1

Some people on here pile Gerry Harvey in the same bucket as Ruslan Kogan though [just saying :)]

  • Kill yourself.

As a word of warning, regardless of how you feel about Beats headphones in general, almost every review mentions that the active noise cancellation on this model produces a particularly annoying audible hiss. You can't turn the noise cancellation off either, so if the hiss bothers you (or you run out of batteries) you're screwed.

    • Hey Steve, did you retire from acting yet?

      • Duh! He's practicing for the role of a manic bargain hunter with an obsession for perfect sound reproduction…

I got Beats Pro from JB @ $209 with price match 4 weeks ago while the RRP is $499. Honestly the build quality of beats so so.

  • +4

dont think this is much of a bargain, you can walk into most stores and ask for better price than this. (not that you'd want to)

  • +2

    Crap.

  • -7

boo hoo cry cry, some people just have the money to enjoy things that arent best value for money - doesnt give you a right to tell them to "kill [them]selves" or call them "douchebags".

a new car can take you from point a to b, so can a lamborghini and so can an old BMW e30.

similarly you can buy a nice Lacoste Polo shirt or you can rock an old unbranded shirt from vinnies, they both do the same thing, why aren't you knocking them.

    • +5

Why are you on this website then? It's clearly not for you…

If a product can do something better, and be cheaper, which one is the most obvious pick? And as for luxuries, you obviously haven't compared beats with say, ATH-M50s.

      • +3

Yes but if someone is dead set on getting beats (or anything else that the vocal "majority" dislike and bag on this site) they are going to get them no matter what people say or prefer.

    • +2

There is a massive difference between "premium" vs a "scam".

I spend heaps of cash on good quality audio gear. I'm more than happy to pay $1K on custom IEMs where I'll be assured of quality vs paying a fraction of that on Dr Dre Beats/Soul/Studios.
These are over-hyped "fashion-ware" and it's a travesty (/melodrama :P) that they are being marketed as "audiophile equipment" when they are anything but that.

A more apt metaphor would be getting a KIA for the price of a Lamborghini. ;) On their own, they aren't the worst headphones (perform pretty decent for bassheads), but for their price, they're just shite. You can do a lot better at that price point (even if you're a basshead).

    • +2

This is OzBargain. There's an automatic bias for cheaper is better. Also getting offended by people telling you to kill yourself or calling you a douchebag? Are you new to the internet?

    • hang on a sec…there's a few things an E30 has over a "new car": the significant lack of electronic wankery that ruins the driving experience.

  • +1

    douche wear

  • -5

one of the most detailed headphones you can purchase, awesome brand and cool design.

    • ^^ Troll/flamebait alert. Do not feed.

  • +3

A true Warrior….er Ozbargainer wouldnt be wasting money on Beats headphones :p

  • -7

I wouldn't buy these even if they were $99. Let alone $280 bucks.

Can i dislike just because it's beats?

    • you may cause your name is awesome

    • +1

      I don't get the negs you're getting.

So if say someone saw a deal for Monster cables for $50 (instead of their RRP of a gazillion gallifrey pandaks), you'd not be able to neg it coz it would be a deal eh? Regardless of the fact that the cables are as effective as their sub-$10 counterparts (or slightly more for the longer ones).

      • Regardless of the fact that the cables are as effective as their sub-$10 counterparts (or slightly more for the longer ones).

Same with cars……. a hyundai will get you from A to B as effectively as a BMW.

However…. some people like to buy the BMW, and their choice should be respected.
Similarly with Monster cables/beats, people for whatever reason, may wish to buy them. Negging a post means the post might disappear, effectively depriving some of our community of the knowledge to make the choice to buy…… Which is not what this site is about.

        • Not sure whether that is an apt metaphor though.

There are reasons why a user may prefer a beamer over a hyundai that are quite different. There are a significant number of features that a BMW may have over a hyundai. :)

A monster cable does EXACTLY what the $5 hdmi cable does, and precisely NOTHING else.

That said, I do get your point. People should have a choice… even if that choice involves being a muppet (monster cable) or a t{a|u}rd (beats).

        • +1

A monster cable does EXACTLY what the $5 hdmi cable does, and precisely NOTHING else.

Not true. The monster cable will most likely be more attractive. Be made of higher quality components which are less likely to degrade over time (this includes the casing of the cable; rubber/plastic/metals).
And finally, give you maximum full digital HD quality.

Ok, that last one was a joke. :P

        • +1

          Fair enough! :)

  • A must buy for bassheads!

you misspelt that last word didn't you?

  • +4

Just buy 100 x $2 earbuds and make a helmet out of them. Better sound and you'll look heaps cooler.
