Seems like a good deal at $74/PA but haven't heard of them before.

Any feedback from peeps that signed up in the last 2 offer?

I wouldn't trust a mechanic who posts on Facebook whilst servicing your car…

Any feedback from peeps that signed up in the last 2 offer?

They're probably broken down somewhere still waiting for help.

As someone from the motor industry, you're probably better off signing up with NRMA/RAC/RACQ/etc..

National's other companies (i'm looking squarely at National Warranties) don't have good reputations

    • One option is Alliance - they arent massive but may suit some people and are included (along with a mass of other stuff inc domestic travel and hire car excess insurance and home emergency insurance, accidental death cover, a range of discounts etc) in the ANZ Extras Package accounts for $18 a month for all of it.

      • i have allianz global assist roadside assistance on my cars - happy with it

Well it's cheaper but I wouldn't say bargain. NRMA is a bit on the pricey side (around $105 now I think) but for peace of mind, paying the extra $30 is worth it.

If these guys were $45 it's a different story. Just my 2c

  • The only information I can find on Google are the deals they have. Wonder how many signed up thinking they were signing up to NRMA.

  • I get it free with my Comprehensive Insurance Premium with Allianz from 2nd year onwards… and the cost of that on top of my first year was equivalent to about $60. Can't recommend Allianz enough to be honest!

    • I think I also got it free from my dealer with the extended warranty purchase. Haven't renewed my NRMA road side assistance. Not sure how good they are as I haven't used them yet.

Your premiums are through the roof though compared to other companies. When I was looking last year they were consistently $150-$200 more than everyone else.

So not really free…nothing in life is really free..except maybe random ozbargain samples, amazon ebooks and Udemy courses. :P

      • In true ozbargain spirit, care to share some of these other companies? I reviewed my policy 6 months ago and this was still the best…

          My $0.02…

You can't really reliably recommend insurance companies based on price alone. Each insurance company has a different price for every address, based on a number of factors including:

          • local risk (eg: are there a lot of car window break-ins in your street because you're close to a train station?)
          • number of people insured in that suburb
          • number of people insured by them in that suburb
          • number of claims they received from that suburb in the previous year(s)
          • specific questions some companies value whilst others don't (eg: if you drive to work, do you have a secure carpark for exclusive use by employees?)
          • seemingly random factors like the phase of Saturn's moons

The best review of an insurance company isn't really based on premium but from someone who has had to deal with them during a claim. It doesn't matter how cheap you get the insurance if they turn out to be a pack of mongrels when you need to invoke the claim process.

        • True -but this quote is for me for the same car under the same circumstances.

Using budget direct at the moment which my parents have claimed with before with no issues. QBE car insurance friends have also claimed with and offered a comparable rate.

I agree some of the ones are quite bad and its not all about price. Coles, bingle etc I'd avoid like the plague hearing the stories on whirlpool.

          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/133?g=263&p=1

        • In what way is Allianz better than Budget Direct when making a claim ?

        • No time fo. Long stori so but Budget Direct and Bingley are both crap to have to claim against, but so is NRMA imo

        • Ive made claims over the alst 15 years through NRMA, AAMI and Allianz (only the AAMI one was my fault)I use to do about 100000kays pa so yeah did get a few accidents over the years and NRMA were bad but Allinz were so bad i dont know where to begin. AAMI were great.

    • Im quite sure you change your mind about ALiianz if you ever try to make a claim.

Looking at this, they're just a tow truck service, with the ability to change a tyre / jump start a car. Those latter two you can probably do yourself. The first, well, they only give you 20km towing.

It looks like they're just an insurance company that has a deal with a towing company

What about this? This is cheaper at $55/year Auswide!

    • I have this..but haven't (luckily) had the chance to use them. Don't know how reliable they are…

      • How long have you been using them for?

        • about 6 months now
