Saw this on their emailed newsletter. Seemed popular on previous posting from ShoppingExpress last month. Not an audiophile and I don't own these. Just posting for those interested.     I've found my XBA 3 to be lacking bass so it'd be interesting to see whether the added bass driver does anything.

    i thought these were made in japan until i got a pair of XBA3. found out it was actually made in thailand with japanese drivers.

    I just called the supplier and begged and got 1 more box … should last 10 minutes - sorry, wish we had more, sold 200 in just over 2 hours. Our CEO wanted a pair and missed out - maybe he needs to work at Dick Smiths (inside joke I'm sure some of you get heheh!).

    If it's any consolation, audiophiles generally prefer the XBA-3 over the XBA-4 because it has a more balanced sound.

    They are now 100% out of stock, the few that reappeared are due to failed or timed out PayPal transactions - our site allows a period of time and some people abandon or can't make payment. The full total is now reached, sorry for all that missed out. If there are more coming I will definitely post and let you know.

    XBA 4 is the old version. The current model is XBA 40.

    Yes, I received one, but suddenly received a refund out of the blue for the second one, no email no explanation. This is the response I just received from their CS and I don't know whether to believe it or not.

    I can confirm an email was sent to all of our customers whom made this purchase purchase as we unfortunately received a large batch of the headphones from our supplier that were severely damaged in transit.

    Unfortunately the supplier and buyer confirmed that they are unable to resupply this item as they cannot source replacements.

    Your details were passed onto accounts and a refund was processed for your full order so as your order and money was not held up as we were left with no other options.

      I imagine anyone getting that message will be really disappointed, since this deal isn't likely to be repeated. Fingers crossed I'm still in the clear, considering my order was supposedly shipped. :)

        Fingers crossed for you. It will be interesting to see whether any other ozbargainers are in the same situation. We are the ones that cleared them out, so if they received damaged stock it would surely have affected other members' orders too.

    I received my order on Friday. Only ordered 1 set. Great sounding headphones. Using my S3 4G as a source the sound seemed a bit muffled, but I tweaked the EQ using Neutron player with some settings from head-fi.org and now it sounds a lot better.

    Was tempted to buy a portable USB DAC/Amp but might hold off for a while.
