Philips CitiScape Collection Uptown Headphones (Black and White) - $46 @ Harvey Norman

400

Busy trying to find my Father's Day present and stumbled across these at HN. Review from Head-Fi sounds good, and pricing appears cheaper than previous OzB deals.

Also in white - http://www.harveynorman.com.au/philips-citiscape-collection-…

I bought a pair on eBay when they were $60, great headphones for this price, really soft and comfortable. The bass isn't particularly noticeable, but a great all-rounder. I've seen them at my local HN for $180.
Don't bother with the "Downtown" or "Shibuya" versions in this range, they have a real muddy sound to them.

  • bought one, hope my father will like it~!

No idea.. I'm shopping for my present. :)

  • Do these have a detachable cable?

    • No, but it is flat/anti-tangle and has a somewhat finicky volume slider.

The Ozbargain is strong in this one…

  • Online only or you can pick up from store?

These are really awesome headphones, specially at this price point.

I'm not very friendly with sets of headphones, but these stand up to all my punishment easy.

Before I purchased them I also was worried about the stupid volume dongle getting in the way, but it has never been an issue.

The only 'problem' is once I start playing music / watching shows on laptop my partner expects me to some how hear what shes saying… haha… good noise isolation once you got some sound into them, and no one can hear what your listening to either.

Comfy ear cups, I can wear these for hours.

And for $46 bucks… your kicking goals.

If you need a new pair of headphones, buy these.

Great find, I also bought one a few months back on ebay for $60 and heres my 2cents
    COns
    - bass heads dont buy, no base what so ever.
    - very quiet pair of headphones, I find myself turning the volume up to 90% and even then its still quiet with some songs I turn it up to 100% to hear.
    - volume slider = most rubbish invention ever, should have just stuck with a button instead of a slider
    - non-detachable cord which seems very flimsy on the end stuck to the headphone itself
    - the spaghetti cored I thought should help it from getting tangled but I find it gets tangled from time to time, its also very thin
    - the packaging, its quite hard to remove from the packaging with the ever so thin cord stuck to the back and I was too scared to yank it thinking it'd rip off lol. Intended to keep the box intact incase of fault, I suggest rip the box as it will make it much easier. You'll see what I mean when you get it
    - no case, but at $46 who cares

    Pros
    - softest pair of headphones I've ever had, period. Theres no challenging that what so ever. Can leave on hours after hours with no problems. The pleather is softer than my $100 pillows
    - looks very nice
    - build feels decent though the earcups do swivel and seem a little flimsy but I think thats how they were meant to be to fit different people
    - noise isolation is great, when I have them on with no music playing I wont be able to hear our car outside with the engine on. With the music on, dont bother trying to hear anyone or anything

  • Tried to add it to my cart for the last 45 minutes without any luck. I did read above about ending on the 18th, so that is probably why, but why does it not state that it is too late if that is the case instead of saying that the cart is empty!

Or the web page is playing up?

    Giving up.

    • Hmm.. Same here. The white ones are listed as in stock near me, maybe try your luck in store??

    • Just show them the online price, and Harvey Norman should be able to match it for you.

  • Anyone else had there order delayed? Typical hardly normal.

  • So I ordered one and got sent a Philips Downtown, how disappointing. Needless to say I'm demanding for my Uptowns.

    • Well that's crap… :(

      Mine is still 'processing'!

      • lol mines still processing as well… also, i sent them enquiries because they didn't let me choose the billing address on the order and so the billing address is wrong now… still haven't heard back from them. Feedback within 24hr my butt…

  • Walked into a HN with this on my phone and was able to get it for $46. Otherwise in store it's reduced to $64

  • Local HN did not have stock. Walked into Domayne across the street - retail price listed as $179.99! They offered me a price reduction to $129 - showed them a photo of the deal page and they price matched the $46.
