Why does your listing say 1Gb of RAM when everywhere else lists 2Gb?

  • How much would that be in AUD?

Does this phone work with Optus network band?

    • +1

Optus uses 2100/900 so I think yes, someone else out there may want to confirm
      http://www.optus.com.au/aboutoptus/About+Optus/Network+Cover…

    • Yes, it works with Optus.

      • +1

Only GSM (normal phone calls)completely works with optus. For WCDMA (data) it only uses 2100 mhz which is mainly in CBD's and is not widespread with Optus. It's mainly a Tel$tra compatible phone(go an Aldi plan).Having said that I use Optus with a Zoppo, but have wifi at home and work. Hard getting a decent signal for data outside the CBD.

        • Thanks mate, it's the sort of answer I was looking for.
          Much appreciated!

    • According to current currency rate, its 346.44 Australian Dollar.

  • WCDMA 900 is preferred, not GSM 900

  • Only uses Optus 2100 for data, so only good in CBD's. Good phone though.

    • That is rather disappointing. I live in a regional area and was seriously looking at this phone. I guess I have to look for a similar phone with WCDMA 900MHz?

  • Hi Rep, I am looking to buy a 2GB ZP990. How about doing a deal for the 2GB version too? Most people will want the 2GB over the 1GB. Doesn't make sense to get 1GB which will get out of memory in no time.

    • Hello clubhonda, please use coupon code "NVWOTHDT" to save US$10.

      • $10 is not much, how about -USD 30.00 for 2GB RAM model?

I might order one if you could lower the price by $30 or $10 + free DHL express?

Thanks Rep but antelife is offering it at $347 and not a presell. Even Zopo's own website is selling at $369. Are you able to better the discount? Ozbargain has lots of hardcore buyers which has a strong buying power if you build a good reputation.

  • Most Chinese phones only come with WCDMA 850/2100MHz.
If you can find one with WCDMA 850/900/2100MHz support, good on you.
The lacking of WCDMA 900 means slow data in regional area if you are with Optus (or its resellers).

    • How slow is slow? Bearable or so bad not to bother even thinking about it?

      • You can experience it by turning off your 3G on your phone and surf the web with GSM….

        • That's true for regional users. Most users are not on WCMDA nowadays, but true in your case.

  • I think this one is better than the LG Nexus 2G RAM/16 ROM (A$320 delivered). I meant the 2G/32G version.

    • Arguable. Based on spec only this might be better. But in one year time nexus will for sure always get the latest version of Android. But update for this might not be available then. Google even still provide update for galaxy nexus. Compared to other company that don't do update after one year

      • So the Nexus 4 gets free Android upgrade automatically for lifetime (5 years +)?

  • how is this phone performance wise? having a hard time finding any reviews.

    • There is a hands on review at GizChina (2GB vers of course) with a full review coming soon, and it is very positive:

      http://www.gizchina.com/2013/08/27/video-zopo-zp990-captain-…

      • Maybe not so popular in Australia since only 1+ vote for this phone. Could be the price a bit too expensive for a Chinese phone. Everybody just go brought the Nexus 4 instead.

    • Most phones with the MT6589T (note the T, the standard and M are lower clocked in both CPU and GPU) will get an antutu score of around 14000-16000 with a 1080p or 720p screens respectively. Comparatively the Nexus 4 gets varying scores depending on the rom, stock it gets around 16000.
