        I have a lightning cable and i have iOS 7 on my Iphone 5 and it wont let me transfer data or charge the phone cause its "not supported"
        Thats why i asked

    Sorry for the newbie question, but does this pass through sound, for use with stereos and dock etc.? I thought there was some existing issue with accomplishing this? Thank you.

      as you can see this have a 3.5mm audio jack that plug into the earphone hole. That is how it will get sound.

      Yes it does!
      It utilizes a 3.5mm audio connector, And it connects into the headphone jack of your iphone/ipod to pass the sound through.

    Red do you have the extension type? If i put this on dock i cant put phone on cos too high and no support.. Need extension so i can leave on table..
