PlayStation Vita Memory Card 16GB $45 - EB Games

70

Seems like a very decent price for the proprietary memory card Sony is pushing on Vita owners.

Also,

  • 4GB: $18 (still $9 preowned in store)
  • 8GB: $25
  • 16GB $45
  • 32GB $83

I think these are a permanent price drop. DS have dropped their prices too across the board.

    • Hmm, considering its $39 + Tax in the US and $45-GST Is about $41 and then you have to consider the AU dollar as well, I'd say it's still a good deal.

      • Agree. Any price drop is good for consumers.

        • Yep, permanent price-drop for the PS Vita console RRP and PS Vita memory cards which was announced at Gamescom: http://vita.mmgn.com/News/ps-vita-gets-an-australian-price-d…

It's still a bit too much for me, but I really need a 32GB. I might wait for another sale and temporary price-cut which hopefully happens soon.

        • Same here… I decided when it was originally released that I would buy once I could get the console and a 32GB card for under $250. The current price drop brings it close enough that a good sale could see it drop below that.

  • I believe this is the US price drop being pushed forward to Australia.

  • Like others have said, this is the standard price from now on. Best to wait for a sale.

The 16gb is also cheaper at jb at $44.

Great, now it's only a gigantic rip-off as opposed to a colossal rip-off.

  • Still too expensive, but it's better than before.
Lucky I imported my 32GB card for $75 last year before the exchange rate plummeted.

  • They finally put SD-card slots in their cameras instead of Sony_MC. And now this!?

Its like when one branch of Sony was providing some of the best MP3/AVI/MKV support in media players, while another branch was putting root-kits on their media. An awfully big conglomerate, i guess.

    • After the rampant piracy on the PSP, you can sort of understand why they went with a proprietary storage format. But the price was just silly.

      • But the PSP Go had proprietary memory and that too was hacked. MS Pro was also proprietary memory on PSP. I know these were available on cameras as well but it still had its Magic Gate security on the card.

Standard 16GB miro-sd class 10 is $12-$15. They want to charge 3-4 times more just because they made it 'proprietary', where they could just use standard micro-sd in the first place. As MrFunSocks said, it's gigantic rip-off.

  • "proprietary memory card Sony is pushing on Vita owners"

    Good description.
