Thanks for that, however the plan pricing that we have for that phone is still being finalized. There is also an additional $18 for the equipment charge for that handset, making it $48 per month.
For the $40 plan, there is an additional $14. The only time that the phone will be $0 upfront will be on the $60 plan."

Of course we will be contacting you first before we process anything. Then if you will agree with it, we will proceed with the order. But if in case you don't, then we can just cancel the pre order.

  • Just an update on my order.
    My order has been cancelled, not sure if it's because I'm an existing Virgin customer.

    • That's not very nice…you should call them up and hassle them about it!!

      • What am I gonna say to them… why is the order canceled?

        • Yeah ask them why, and be persistent they might let you have it, don't let it get away!

        • I just called, got told that if I have an existing number with them I can't actually order online! I'll have to call their upgrade team blah blah… sounds like bull to me!

        • Tell them it is a second number for your family member etc and it is not written in their t&c existing customer cannot order online.

        • Now when I call customer service, they tell me that the Z1 isn't showing up in their system… so they can't actually order it…
          and called again, they want me to go in a store to buy one.

    • Omg. I have not received order approval yet but only have ref no. from the livechat sales rep it has been honoured. @clse945111 did you get that ref no. and confirmed by the sales rep it had been honoured before you received the cancellation email?

      • I haven't actually got any cancelation email,
        I talk to an online rep, gave her my order no. and stuff and got told that it was declined, I asked why and got no answer!

  • For those who hasn't received their confirmation email yet, I recommend chatting with their sales team.

    I was waiting my confirmation email but I thought I'll try chatting with them.

    At the online chat, they confirmed that the order is approved and will organise to send the confirmation email within the hour. And I received the confirmation email within 5 minutes :)

  • No received email confirmation until today :(

    • Email [email protected] with your order number and details, they should send you a confirmation email. That's what I did on Thursday, confirmation arrived on Friday.

  • Anybody receive this phone yet?Is this phone from Virgin Mobile is in black colour only? How to claim the Sony Speaker?

    • Just got mine this morning. Make sure you're at home with your driver's license to sign for the item. I think the speaker ball needs to be redeemed (as per previous Virgin Mobile bonuses). Didn't have instructions in the box so might need to get in contact with support.

      • Did they send you an email when they dispatched the package? I haven't got any emails yet…

          Got the email around 4:30am and item arrived at 8 (lucky I was still home). Prior to that I only had one order confirmation email

          Yes I got email from Virgin this morning and then I got my phone delivered after.

        • Mine was also Virgin stock, came with a dock in the box. I'm also a little disappointed with the camera unfortunately, but I haven't had a real play with it yet.

  • It's an optus branded handset coming with optus bloatware, anyone managed to delete the optus stuff ?

    • All the Optus bloatware can be uninstalled. The Sony stuff can only be disabled.

    • I'd rather forego the dock and have a good sounding headset. Cheapass Sony!!

        actually the dock makes it convenient to charge the phone (no more fiddling with the plastic flaps on the side) and its also magnetic to make sure the contacts touch each other and charge the phone properly. other than the crappy headset that was included. Everything is ok.

        • so disappointed with the earphone, it looks crappy compared with international version.

          besides front camera do not locate properly. Also come with optus start up screen after SONY and Xperia, does anyone know how to remove it ?

    anyone notice their bill, mine has a charge of $40 for the phone repayments but with an offset of $40 to make bring it to zero. So the cost of the handset billed for the $30 cap plan is actually $40, but because of the credit..you only pay $30 a month without handset repayments. I'll be closely looking at this if Virgin will try to do a sneaky entry and charge me the handset repayments.. :)

  • I am on the phone with Virgin as I am typing, still haven't got my phone yet, been ringing them 3-4 times already and I am on hold for more than 5 minutes now, hopefully this girl is sorting my order out, Virgin oh Virgin… please have a better system in place, stuffing up a month old pre order…

    edit: just done talking with them, they said it has been delivered and returned back to the warehouse, but I never get the card to pick it up from the post office (wth??), anyway the girl told me that they will resend the package and I should get it next Wednesday…

    2nd,,,I checked your order and it has already been submitted to our deliveries team. We just need to wait for them to touch the order request since this is a pre-order, processing of orders will be on a first come, first serve manner.

    3rd,,,The order was submitted last 06/10/13. Please allow until tomorrow, as delivery time frame may take 4-5 business days.

    4th,,,I've had a look at your account and it appears that you have already contacted our Customer Service Team by phone in regards to this issue.

  • I went through exactly the same crap as you guys above, Virgin screwed up my order and after many phone calls, they created a new order and shipped the phone out, and I got it the next day (yesterday).

    Make sure you call them up, don't bother with their online chat/emails, just call them and be firm with them - that if they can't solve your problem immediately, then ask to speak to a manager.

    After saying all that, they got their act together with my order.

    • I got my phone on last Friday even i put my pre-order on early September.

  • Yup, same story. After following up for the 7th time, they finally admit that the first order number was never processed in the first place and just now had to get a new order number and was given 5-8 working days delivery wait time.

    Really bad service, they basically lied the first 6 times about delays and kept making me wait 2-3 days everytime for nothing.

  • Same thing happened to me as well.
    Just make sure guys that they don't add handset payments to your plan. After receiving new order number, I checked my account details and the virgin contribution for handset was $26 instead of $40. (I bought the phone on $40 cap).
    Still sorting out the issue with them.
    So a heads up for higher bill!
    Not happy…

  • Question guys. Can anyone confirm whether phone is locked or unlocked? I am planning to use this with my Aldi sim. Don't want to cut the sim and later regret. I don,t have any other micro sim…

    • I believe that being postpaid, it will be unlocked. However, I'm afraid I don't have another micro SIM card to test this.

      EDIT:
      Sorry, looks like it possibly may be network locked, but being postpaid it should be free to unlock.

      • Thanks. I will try on Monday. Hopefully it is unlocked! Otherwise, I will have one more thing to get done from Virgin, apart from fixing the handset repayments.

    • Mine was definitely unlocked. Was using it with a Telstra sim for a few days with no issues before I ported over and activated the Virgin (Optus) sim

        Guys just a heads up, make sure you check in your 'my account' exactly what your charges are because they've charged me $18 for the handset (which I'm raising a dispute about) and also when I signed up, I put a data pack on there, which they didn't apply to my account, so now I've gone overboard in my data allowance, which I'll also be disputing.

    • I missing the timing to redeem the speaker ball, because Virgin delay delivery the phone, who defend our right to Virgin,,,

    i am on the phone with them again now, starting to think that signing up with them for 24 months is not such a good idea now… imagine the headache when they f'ed up your billing?

    their ability to f'ed up a simple order and delivery many many times is amazing

    edit: got off the phone and the rep simply said the dispatch has not send it since 2 weeks ago and 2 phone calls to them…

      finally got my phone on Thursday 24/10, 24 days late, I guess it's better to be late than never :) so far I am happy with the phone, but like mentioned before, the headset is crap, I am now using Samsung headset instead :p

  • Sony just informed me that they can only investigated 42 business days after sign-up from waivestar if you have not yet received your speaker ball. so effectively I you have not received yours you can only ring them by december if you've signed-up exactly on the 6th of Oct…

  • How's the performance and sound quality of the speaker guys? Does it start getting crackly when you crank up the sound?

  • Just received my speaker ball today. Very easy connection and pairing via one touch NFC.
    Not much distortion at volume, but also not much bass at all.
    Pretty good overall for a 2cm diameter speaker though.

      Yeah I got it, and am going to dispute it, they've overcharged me $18 for the phone repayment…useless virgin

    • Yep, now that the 2nd bill has came through I can see that I am being charged handset repayments. Will be calling 2morow to rectify the mistake.
