    What an odd 'deal'.

    Sony DVD+RW $28 from MSY
    WD 320GB $72 from MSY
    Total $100

    E8400 $257 from MSY
    2GB DDR2-800 $33 from MSY
    Total $290

    2 x Seagate 1.5TB $428 from MSY

And all these you don't have to bundle.

These "deals" are pretty crap, and I've only compared to MSY, I haven't even fired up staticice.

    • Can you please fire up staticice and compare our prices to ONLINE STORES (not retail stores that doesn't do delivery since Mwave.com.au is an ONLINE STORE) please.

Plus you can pickup here at Mwave also… about the SONY DVD+RW + WD 320GB are you matching the same models?

  • To Tantryl:

I have looked at your last 7 comments on deals and they are all negative except for one ROFLMAO.

Plus they are always refering to MSY LOL! or Advertising… LOL!

Yep, I post a lot of negative comments. Because there's a lot of crap on here. Do you think that the three comments I put on the "linkwizz" spam were unfair in any way?

And yep, I put up MSY prices. Why? 'cause the PDF is easy to flip up, they usually beat garbage advertising deals on ozbargain and they have at least one store in every major capital city. I also frequently mention the Officeworks pricematch option, as it's a good deal and again because of the widespread stores.

Funny how my comments are all based on, you know, reality. And helping people find a good deal instead of falling for vendors exaggerated claims of bargains. Negative comments for non-bargains. It's almost like I'm doing exactly what the sites designed for, and not just hocking my own products regardless of how good the 'deal' is…

      For future reference: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelineā€¦

      Only good bargains, please

Don't bother to post when you can simply find a better price by googling. You want hot deals? So do we.

A few ways to ensure what you have posted are really good bargains:

      • Always check with List of Price Comparison Sites to ensure it has lowest overall price.
      • Make sure the cost of postage and handling is included, if applicable.
      • Make sure the deal can be accessible from Australia. It is pointless to post on OzBargain if Aussies cannot buy it.
      • Check the fine print, that a low initial cost does not have a huge responsibility attached.

      Notes to merchants:

      • As OzBargain is a community website, deals that you have posted will be judged and voted by our community members. If it is not a good bargain, expect votes against them.

you can also order online at MSY, and pick up in store…

Voting negative for the deal, and also excessive use of "LOL" in the comments.

      lol :)

  • it's only an average price.

  • simply not a bargain

  • come on mwave you guys can do better than that

  • Not sure why MWAVE emphasis the fact they are an "Online store" because online stores should be able to have better prices than ordinary stores with a shop front, if they can't even beat MSY, it is not simply not a bargain at all.

    • My Price is beat MSY there except for the Sony DVD+RW + 320GB HDD????????

  • Don't worry guys, I won't post any more these type of deals.

I guess being cheaper than MSY the famous store being the cheapest doens't cut it anymore. (except for the SONY DVD+RW + 320GB)

If all your deals were crap you can bet your arse I would have voted negative on them. It's what I do best.

You'll note I haven't voted negative on any of your other deals, and I've even voted positive on one of them. Why? 'cause I don't care what the company is, I care whether it's a bargain. This was, at best, a marginal discount on other major retailers. The biggest discount there is under 3% I think. I realise margins in the PC hardware game are razor thin, but I'm looking at this from a consumer point of view.

If you can't appreciate that 2-3% doesn't constitute a bargain, especially when it comes under bundled caveats, then fine - don't post deals. It'll save us all some time.

But if you're willing to actually post deals that are noticeably beneficial to ozbargain visitors then post them… and I'll give them a big green +.

Like the Deal Posting Guidelines say - post good deals, check shopbot and staticice, make sure your post is an actual bargain.
