  • Hahah just got an email from Coles advertising 40c off per litre for a $110 spend until Sunday. Much better deal.
    EDIT: appears targeted offer.

The Coles one is targeted. I got one also. Not as generous as yours spend $130 to save 22c

Im guessing you do minimal shopping at Coles so they are trying harder to lure you. Im giving up on coles for 3 months so they can start sending me better offers

    • I wouldn't say minimal. But I do usually take up these offers regularly and end up spending more than the required amount. So they probably only get me into the store for a decent spend when they send me an offer worthwhile.
Lately I just haven't had the motivation to buy groceries….

    • Coles certainly completely give up on me.

    • I got spend $80, save 30c per litre

  • I got "spend $0 to get 0c off per litre" aka I got nothing! No deal.

      Targeted offer

    • Not much different to this offer really: Lets say you spend the $100 (probably end up spending a bit more) then you manage to squeeze 50 litres of fuel into you car at say $1.50/L So in total you've spent $175+ and saved $7.50 a saving of 4.3% Not a huge discount, a bit better than nothing I guess and at least Woolies ends up with more of your money.

you are forgetting that you have to buy food to live, and usually fuel is required for a vehicle.

so in fact, you can actually spend $100+ at woolies on necessities (although not on every shop), therefore your fuel saving is actually around 10%.

i shop at aldi and then pay for my fuel at the regular prices
did the math and on average for me its a little cheaper than coles+shell or woolies+caltex

  • a few bus tickets!

We have fuel drums and a big tank, so we always get the full 150 litres for discount.

  • I think the Woolworths offer is good for large families. I try to spend as little as possible at Woolworths and only spend $100 there when they have lots of specials that suit my needs or when I can stack several targeted offers and stock up on things that I have run low on. My targeted coles offer was $50 for a 16 cent fuel voucher so I'll probably take that one up.

  • My fuel tank is 160ltrs, do I still get the discount on the 150ltrs (and not the last 10ltrs)?

    • In a fair world, you would expect so, however their T&C wording is as follows:

"You may only redeem one fuel saving offer per transaction, per vehicle, for a fuel purchase of up to 150 litres."

That's not worded clear enough for my comfort, so if I was in your situation I'd only put 150L in.

  • Woolworths have gone on a rampage targeting me this weekend. Bonus fuel offer, bonus BWS offer for $55 spend, Bonus Supermarker offer for spending $30 on fruit and veg and Bonus Big W offer for $50 spend
