If people do need to get the iPhone, then this model is exactly the same as the "new" (COUGH) iPhone 5c with the exception of the Metal case (which most people prefer over the Plastic). Get this model before it runs out people.

      • How perverse and perhaps privileged we are to live in a society where we can afford to spend time standing in line — not for bread or sustenance, not for life-saving medicine, but simply to see what is at the end of the line.

These people are definitely not Ozbargainers.

        Isn't C for Crap !

If you are with Optus I would say spend the extra dollar and get the iPhone 5c, even though it is plastic. It supports the new Optus 4G Plus TD LTE.

I think this is better than iPhone 5C, but again if you are already spending this much, why not put in $130 and get the latest 5S.

If the 5 around $500 range it would make more sense getting it now (but I doubt it will ever be as that how much second hand is going for now).

          IOS/iPhone is just the same.

What ever man built is never perfect as man isn't perfect. Nobody can create a 100% impenetrable operating system, which is why people get paid big bucks to try to make it impenetrable. Its a viscous cycle.

Could of sworn that Android being open source was because Android is open source. Not sure what your on about. Open source refers to the core OS being available for all to use freely. Thats what Android is. Its the core OS of Android being modified and used on phones.
Android IS Open Source. The version they use is an adaptation, just because its an adaptation doesn't mean Android isn't open source and by extension, the adapted OS is also open source.

"In production and development, open source as a development model promotes a) universal access via free license to a product's design or blueprint, and b) universal redistribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone…..Generally, open source refers to a computer program in which the source code is available to the general public for use and/or modification from its original design. Open source code is typically created as a collaborative effort in which programmers improve upon the code and share the changes within the community."

        • As for viruses….. YES iPhone gets viruses:

As per your link, "The app does request permission to access the user's address book by asking if the user wants to find friends in a phone book. However, once permission is granted, the app swipes the contact information and sends spam, making it seem as if it is being sent by the user." This isn't a virus, it's a trojan.

I know heaps of friends who have laggy/freezing/crashing on IOS and even battery drain.

All Apps except those on Apple's white-list are sandboxed, hence cannot infect nor slow down performance of other Apps.

Maybe its just me, but why do android users find the need to troll or make stupid, biased and unnecessary comments in these type of apple related deals?
Seems theres a lot of bitter android users out there.
But seriously, who cares? Its a personal choice, do u run up to people wearing designer or generic brands and bag them for what brand they use?

    • +2

You always find at least one Apple genius on Android deals. So whats the problem seems fair to me.

You can buy this for $739 from the apple store (got one yesterday). The guy there said, If you are not sure you want this or a 5C (as the 5C is not on displace in Aus yet) they will happy to exchange it within 14 days they will swap it for a 5C (same price) no questions asked. It just needs to be in working order.
