I just tried downloading it and it's been flagged by my AV. It's probably a false positive but heads up for Norton AV users.

    • Really?.. I don't have any AV installed…maybe I shouldn't install it

      • Yeah, it was flagged and removed before even I even got to look at it. Maybe someone should run this across Virus Total or some other online scanner.

BitDefender flags the neatmp3 homepage as containing malware.

Could it be that the site has been compromised and users are being directed their on purpose so they become infected? The OP is a new account (a few days old, this is their first post)…could be coincidence or OP may be unknowingly promoting a compromised site.

    • Well, I didn't get warned before entering the site. The url itself appears to be safe according to Virus Total. So far, the app itself looks only to have been flagged by BitDefender (as nige0090 said) and Norton. I've also noted that the neatmp3.com url has also been flagged by BitDefender (again) and Dr. Web according to VT. 2/39 online AV engines isn't bad (but that's only according to my own belief).

      • Try clicking on the 'Product homepage' link from the OP link above, Bitdefender blocks with a warning. I also tried directly from another link that went directly to the .exe but it was blocked with a Bitdefender malware warning….safer to stay away and try other alternatives such as the freeware ones listed below.

        • Agreed and I can vouch for MediaMonkey. I used to have it for everytime the album art in my itunes broke.

      • Nope - I said that BitDefender flagged "the neatmp3 homepage"

        • Lol! I sit corrected. I have no idea why I thought you meant the app itself.

Tag&Rename is a far better ID3 tag editor.

There's also several very competent freeware editors:

  • It's probably a false positive, my KIS doesn't give any issue at all.
