    um… ok…

Haha, and this line: "computing has never been so fast or powerful."

      Comes with 4GB RAM.

  • No idea about the laptop, but this looks like a decent price for a sony tablet S 9":

but is it too outdated now?

    • I also saw that but not very sure which model it is but by the look of it seems is the old model.

  • 14" available online, but neither are available in-store in WA anywhere.
The 13" is a good deal for those who can get it, but the 14" is not.

Not a bad price. Personally I'd splurge a little more for haswell for the superior battery life and performance.

Do people use the touchscreen on their laptops much?

    • I think its a must have if using Win 8

  • Is it full HD?

    • No idea but why would you want a Full HD on 13"? Will it be too small?

  • two quick questions -

    1. does it come pre-installed with an OS? win 7 or 8?
    2. is it touchscreen?

The Macbook Pro (non retina, 2011 model) is not too bad at $1149.5, given on these model, you can easily upgrade memory and storage (add SSD if you have one around…) http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/electrical/t…

The Sony one is not such a good deal compared to the entry level Macbook Air…

    • Retina makes a huge difference

      Glen Waverley
      Southland

  • tempting, anyone got a model number for 13"?

  • I just grabbed the 13.3" for $550 it comes with 32GB ssd/500gb hdd, certainly the os runs on the ssd which is as fast as the 128gb one, it suits my needs as i need more storage for movies

    • +1

From which store? The 13.3 model in DJ comes with 128GB SSD only and its $699

    • I too am interested to hear specifics…

RE: 32GB SSD, you can setup Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) to use the 32GB SSD as a cache for the 500GB. You install to the 500GB, then set the SSD as a 'cache', then just let the software work out what's more important for you!

      • Unboxing it and i couldn't start it up?
Any one used it before can give me advice, does the battery need to be fully charge in order to start it up first time? or i just got a brand new DEAD laptop?

        • If it doesn't even turn on, take it straight back. Most likely dead power supply.

        • Dont take it back to DJs. You wont get another at this price. Take it to Sony and ask for a new battery. The problem with this laptop is that the battery comes attached.. so from maufacturing to the actual sale which is more than a year in this case, the battery must have died.

        • … except a laptop will work fine with a dead battery as long as the power supply is functioning.

DJs Queens Plaza (Brisbane) had the SVT13115FGS for $549.50 and the SVE11126CGB for $454.30. Neither of them seem to be on the DJ website. I think it is pot-luck with DJs for stock.
