Acer TimelineUltra M5-581TG 15.6" Laptop $699 + Shipping

150

Acer TimelineUltra M5-581TG-73516G52Mass (NX.M2GSA.006) 15.6" LED, i7-3517U Windows 8, 6GB, 500GB, Nvidia GT640M 1GB

Just came across this deal researching laptops for a friend. I believe it qualifies for a $149 cashback from Acer however centrecom havent noted this like they have with their other Acer models. Seems like a decent price when compared to the recent 20% off Acer Dick Smith deals.

Shipping costs look to be around $17

Hmmm looks decent, can anyone confirm cashback? It doesnt look like its on the list here http://ec3.acer.com.au/AcerCashBack/ACA/Projects/CashBack/Lo…

  • Kinda tempting, but "acer" branding is making it hard to go through with it. Any thoughts?

Edit: Without cash back definitely a no…

The Timeline Series is actually built quite well.

Some of the super cheap Aspire ones are still built pretty crappy.

    • I had a Timeline 3820TG

Babied that thing like you wouldn't believe.

It was awesome until it died one month out of warranty.

Take from that what you will as YMMV

  • Embedded RAM is the dumbest thing ever. Still interested though.

  • are you sure this is the same specs as centrecom? this states weight @2.05kg but centercom page states 2.3kg

    • The specs are taken from the specification tab on the centrecom website..

  • is there a Asus alternative that's also 15.6" in a similar price range???

  • One Acers, usually, the killer is the screen… very poor viewing angles make them very uncomfortable to use… this one as a cheap TN display

Went to Dick Smith to check out the V5-573 , it was really nicely built however the screen was really poor. The pixels can be seen from a distance, very obvious in green and blue. Went to two dicks and officeworks. V5-571 at officeworks was the same.

    • for an acer laptop of $700, i expect a fhd.
