8c off $30 spend at Coles is a much better offer…

    • It depends really.. Most of us know that we can't stack the 8c discount when buying petrol, which means if you need to spend $100, then getting 15c off will give us more discounts rather than splitting the payment into 3 transactions giving 3 x 8c coupons.

I know that you cant stack them.
But hey, with Coles you get a total of 3 vouchers to use with a total discount value of 24c. Of course you are gonna fill your cap up more than once, isn't it ?

No matter how many 8c vouchers on your hand, they worth 8c/L and the total discount value stays at 8c/L.

          OMG
Why is it so hard to understand ?
With a 15c voucher, you get 15c discount ONCE

With three 8c vouchers, you get 8c discount THREE times.

          For the slow ones:

Suppose you fill up 100 litres petrol three times @ $1.50
          With 15c voucher you will pay $135+$150+$150 = $435

          With three 8c vouchers for 100 litres @ $1.50, you pay $142+$142+$142 = $426

          Saving of $9

        • That's why @yaditya said it depends.

Say if you need to fill 200L per month and $200 to spend in supermarket, getting 5 x 8c won't be any better than 2 x 15c. No matter how you split your fillings, the max saving from you 8c vouchers is 8c/L x 200L = $16. But if you fill twice with your 15c voucher, you get 15c/L x 200L = $30 discount. So in this case bigger discount wins.

Actually, based on my observation, the fuel price around Sydney won't finish more than two cycles every month, so if you have fill up more than twice a month, big chance to pay 14c more than others who fill when the price is low.

    • depends on how much you fill up and coles dont let you use one coupon on more then 1car as woolies does so I normally use up thw whole 150litres

and woolies sells bus tickets easily 100dollars if anyone catches a bus or myzone tickets

      • I have filled up at coles before number i=of time and they di d allow me to do that.. I m in SA..

    • I gave you an upvote because I have more than 1 car in the house, so 8c off $30 spend works out better for me. :)

  • Liquorland have a spend $30 on wine and get 10c off per litre (plus usual 4c discount). Ends 1/10. This may suit some people.

  • Possible to stack with this deal?

no chance i'll spend more than $100 at woolies but i'll be checking trolleys for abandoned receipts ;)

Now that is the true ozbargainer spirit.

Woolies vouchers are usually put on their "everyday rewards" cards….so not much hope with the receipts

      • in my own experience, i've found that only a small % of vouchers i see are on the rewards card :D in fact i see more receipts with the fuel voucher torn off then dumped

        • i'm guessing though that most people who spend $100 would use an edr card? :)

        • +4

maybe. the 2 people who discarded their fuel discounts from the last 15c round sure didn't B)

luck of the draw and all. i once found a coles fuel voucher and a coke bottle in the one trolley. was every bit as great as winning division 6 powerball lol

Has anyone noticed that the price is down to about 1.38/1.40, and then up by 16/18c. After 2 weeks then we get these specials

    (I am quoting Perth prices)

    • same in nsw

  • The link states purchases between 11/09 - 15/9. I just spent over $100 and the fuel discount is only 4c per litre :(
