I don't get motivated to vote very often, but THIS is a deal. Give me a couple of Four & Twentys over a Dominos pizza any day!

Yum possum.. (good deal, but ew)

  • I vouched never to eat frozen meat pies again but then I saw this deal at Coles and just had to grab me a pack. Some lady I saw stocked up about 20 packs…..yikes.

damn that woman! does she deliver?

wonder whats with coles and the recent sales spree
      its actually pretty good lol

credit crunch - everyone's eating @ home or take away. meat pies are a cheap eat for home.

    • -1

At my Coles it applies to their whole range of Four n Twenty. I also saw a guy who filled his trolley with about 20 (packs) of them. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

  • Are the pies good?

You can get 6 pies (900g) with homebrand from woolies and the same thing at aldi.

Yeah I might grab a pack as well. They are actually fairly nice compared to a few of the competition going around. If you've wanted to try the brand but couldn't justify the $5++ asking price, now would be a great time :)

    nice deal

  • These babies are your one way trip to a heart attack. Wonder if there is 1/2 as much meat as usual in these 1/2 price 'promotional' pies!? :p

    Check out: http://www.choice.com.au/viewArticleAsOnePage.aspx?id=105214

The FOUR ‘N TWENTY Traditional Pie has only 28 % meat, and is 28% fat by weight!

    • Interesting, good thing I buy the Aldi pies then!

Damn you! I was thinking about taking advantage of this offer until I read that:

"Under the Food Standards Code, a meat pie must be at least 25% 'meat'.

The definition of meat, though, includes parts of the animal many people might not normally eat, such as: snouts, ears, tongue roots, tendons and blood vessels. For some reason only offal (such as brain, heart, kidney, liver, tongue, tripe) must be specified on the label.

The definition also includes body parts from animals you might not expect to be eating: buffalo, camel, deer, goat, hare and rabbit."

Maybe I should be thanking you?

Update: The test was last updated in 2006 and does state that "Food Standards Australia New Zealand is considering changes to the code to redefine 'meat' as the muscle meat that most people might expect in a pie and require manufacturers to tell you the species of animal it's come from on the label. For the moment, though, 'meat' means most parts of lots of animals." Anybody know if this happened?

        Conclusion and Recommendation
The First Review concludes that the preferred option is Option 1, which is to reaffirm the
decision at Final Assessment to amend the meat pie definition to replace the requirement for
meat pies to contain no less than 25% meat with no less than 25% meat flesh.

      • That's scary

  • Good deal, like this brand, but still prefer the taste of Homebrand 6pk 900g meat pies, for less than $3.50.
Anyone working for woolworths? whos the supplier for the HB meatpies?

  • Great Deal.
Why is Coles in VIC selling these for $3.30?

    • I suppose they just rounded it up?

  • The date for the end of this deal is incorrect:

In my catalogue, it says the last day is today.

"Coles Catalogue - Happy Easter - NSW

    Starts 09 Apr - Ends Today "

Maybe it doesn't end today for other states?

    • Thank for pointing it out. Have edited the post.

  • You'd be surprised by the 'types' of meat they put in frozen meat pies
