  is this too good to be true? will mac warranty still apply coz this shop isn't an authorised dealer… so is it legit?

    They will honour warranty no problem. I've noticed 9289 are selling Mac's really cheap. I've had a great experience buying from them and would recommend to anyone.

    They also have the same Macbook with a 64GB SSD for only $1599, but you're probably better off buying this one and upgrading the SSD yourself (cost about $225 but you get an extra 120GB SATA).

  Yeah 9289 seems new on the computing scene but have had some really hot deals and really positive press lately. I wish them well as it's a very competitive industry.

  Deal wise, it seems fairly good. Only concern being whether they are an authorised apple dealer. Having said that, if they are, all's good I suppose :)

  Its not actually the current generation Macbook, its the previous white model the current are all aluminum. Considering Apple themselves have these for $1600ish I would check before buying these are not refurbished models.

    hotzone, please note that the White model is still on sale as the entry version on Apple.com.au. The model number and specs listed on 9289 are of the latest, hence Nvidia graphics.

  yeah, just saw that too, the $1599 model has a SSD HDD, the ripped out 120GB is given to you as the free bonus. Don't know what happened to the $1399 model?

  I wonder if Apple made them pull it. They don't like 'specials'. Also, I couldn't check, but the current white MacBook has Firewire, whereas the more expensive aluminium MacBook actually does not. If it was current model as stated, it should have Firewire.
