  • Big screen, DVD drive and no SSD is kinda stretching Ultrabook don't you think? But not bad value

    • Wow I went down the rabbit hole trying to figure out if Ultrabooks need an SSD to be called an Ultrabook.

      And wound up finding this:

      http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/notebook-p…

      3200x1800 resolution…omfg

    • 2.1kg is what rules it out as an ultrabook in my mind - but it's one of those buzz words that eventually gets diluted to meaningless.

  • The link says $972.

    • +1

      Sale is from Friday-Sunday.

  • Think 15.6" display takes the purpose of ultrabook away.

  • ASUS A56CA-XX257P - 15.6" 16:9 HD (1366x768)
    LED Backlight -
Intel Core i7-3537U (2 GHz, Turbo Boost up to 3.10 GHz) -

  • Certainly looks to be good deal since the i5 of the same priced at $ 786

    • I had spent some time to find some reviews of this device on the net but have not been able to some across a single one. Strangely enough, ASUS themselves not listing this under their AU site…!!!

  • Anyone know the quality of this particular model? thinking to get one. Thanks.

  • Hi guys, price is updated to $799 already. You can buy it today in-store or online. Thank you

    • Can you point to place we can get idea of the full specs? Certainly, MSY doesn't detail the specs other brief of it. Tried @ http://www.asus.com/au but no luck and which is damn strange… Are these Oz Stock?

  • Alright notebook, but it's definitely not an ultrabook.

    • Yes, definitely this is not an Ultrabook. In the http://www.asus.com/au search page, the Ultrabook check box gets disabled when tick the CD/DVD R+W. So this definitely not an Ultrabook…
