Ski Divine Full Fat "Yogurt" 1kg Varieties $2.94 @ Woolworths

450

Just noticed this on back page of catalogue. Not sure if posted elsewhere. This is the Divine full fat range only - with some new varieties, eg Caramalised Pear, Raspberry and White Chocolate, and Apple Cinnamon.

(D'lite low-fat range are $4.50 ea at Woolies = better at Coles 2 for $8.) But i'm looking forward to trying Caramalised pear - and glad i didn't buy it a few weeks ago when i first saw it on the shelf at $4. Win!

  • Why is the word Yogurt in quotes?
    Is it not real yogurt?

For those who are curious about the nutritional differences between the Ski Divine "Full Fat" Yoghurt and the Ski D'lite "Low Fat" Yoghurt. Here is a link for the Vanilla flavour in both versions.

Ski Divine "Full Fat" Yoghurt - http://goo.gl/q61pwl

    Ski D'lite "Low Fat" Yoghurt - http://goo.gl/AWZxsp

I personally prefer the Full Fat yoghurt rather than the Low Fat version because of the difference in Sugar to make the Low Fat taste reasonable.

    • According to those picture there is still more sugar per 100 gm in the full fat version over the light version.

Also they are both 1 kg tubs, why does one serve 8 and the other serve 5

      • +1

The difference is probably the type of sugar there would probably be more natural sugar from the cream as opposed to added sugar in the full fat version. Regardless sugar is the 3rd ingredient in both :)

Although if you are tracking sugar intake you probably want to steer clear of any flavoured products and go for something like Jalna Greek yoghurt + add your own fruit.

      • Ah, I didn't notice that the serving size is actually different. 125g per serve for the Full Fat and 200g per serve for the Low Fat, hence, the difference in number of serves per tub.

    • Compare those to the Nestle (now Ski) Soleil http://www.skiyoghurt.com.au/wp-content/uploads/SKI-Soleil-1…

      Less fat, less sugar.

I can't stand the 'light' or 'fat free' yoghurts - they don't taste anywhere remotely like proper yoghurt. Lately I've been trying that Gippsland brand of yoghurt and that is excellent (although expensive).

      Jalna is pretty awesome too.

    • +2

Ski yogurt is not "proper" yogurt. It is made with gelatine from left over scrap cows bits to make it thicker.

Jalna makes proper "pot set" yogurt.

In your best Homer voice: "mmmmmmm…scrap cows bits."

Yoplait Forme is pretty tasty and the lowest calorie yogurt I have seen. Eating stuff like that and diet aeroplane jelly has seen me lose 15 kilos in 7 weeks.

        Nice one George!

    • Danone for me! Gippsland is nice but the fruit gets too much for me sometimes. XD

  • I hope they also include some gym passes with that Yogurt.

Caramalised pear tastes so damn good, got some from IGA on clearance 2 weeks ago for $3. Will be getting more =)
Hope the other new flavours are as good.

    • I second that, pretty nice i have to say.

Amazes me that people are paying up to $15 for a tub of yogurt with toppings at those yogurt shops now…..

    • +2

Those "yoghurt" shops (sugar, milk, flavour shops) are frozen and different to shelf yoghurt you buy at woolies.

Terrible for you and ridiculously expensive, but not really yoghurt at all. I'm not even sure they have any of the bacteria required to be classified as yoghurt to be honest.

(I work for woolworths and this is not an official representation of the company, it is my own opinion)

      • +1

We need another of those Jalna half price offers from Woolies, hint hint

    • And that there's so many different chains trying to get on the band wagon.

  • +2

Can they stop adding sugar in? It's taste more like sugar rather than yogurt.

  • Brooklea lite Aldi will cost $3 already, if you veer on the pudgy side. Raspberry and White Chocolate, however, sounds just divine for my need.

  • Can't comment as to these specific brands but I was bemused to find out that some pot yoghurts have more calories than a Big Mac at one stage.

Just bringing this up to warn anyone who watches calories (I hope people specifically watching sugar intake have got the message from previous commenters) - calling something "yoghurt" (real or not) imbues it with an aura of a "healthy" food which can sometimes not be the case at all although there's certainly nothing wrong with unadulterated yoghurt perse.

  • According to my catalogue, the deal only lasts a week and finishes Tuesday 5 November, not the December date listed here.
