Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 - $166.49 @ CrazySales, $27.11 Shipping to 2000

70

Cheapest I could find online (excl. shipping). Pretty good review when compared to Bose QuietComfort 15.

Description
In addition to cancelling up to 95% of ambient noise Audio-Technica’s new ANC9 QuietPoint headphones also feature three noise cancelling settings for different environments, an inline microphone for answering calls and controlling music, and luxurious memory foam padding on the headband and ear cups. 95% is the highest noise cancelling performance ever achieved by Audio-Technica. Four miniature microphones, two in each ear earpiece, sample ambient noise (traffic, aircraft engine, etc.) and a generate an "antinoise" signal to effectively cancel it out. Once that is achieved the benefits of Audio-Technica's 40 year history in headphone design and manufacturing becomes very apparent. With powerful 40mm drivers and newly developed electronics delivering, clear, and natural full range sound with authoritative bass, a detailed midrange, smooth, extended treble and precise imaging. Three selectable cancellation modes provide filters for different environment noise conditions with upto 30 dB reduction. Mode 1 is ideal for use on airplanes, trains and buses and applies maximum noise-cancellation at low frequencies. Mode 2 is designed especially for noisy offices and crowded places, and targets midrange frequencies. Mode 3 is best for already-quiet locations like libraries and creates a pristine, peaceful environment ideal for study and zoning out. ANC9 comes with two detachable 1.2m cords, one is a conventional cord for in-flight, the other features an inline microphone and controller for answering calls and controlling music. Ideal for use with iPhone, iPad and many iPod models, the omni-directional microphone picks up a wearer’s voice without the need to speak directly into it. The controller enables the user to play or pause music, answer and end calls, and go to the next or previous track. As with all Audio-Technica ANC headphones the ANC9 will continue to work passively should the single battery runs flat. The complete package, which retails for $299, includes a semi-hard zip-up travel case, AAA battery (good for around 30 hours), airline and 6.5mm jack adaptors, and 2 detachable cables (1 with inline control/mic).

  • I have a pair of these and the NC is better than any other the other NC phones I have owned. PXC-310,Shure, Sony & Panasonic.

  • +1

I prefer beats by Dre. Neg my comment if you agree

    • Beats, Bose, … similar reputation for value.

  • I have the ATH-ANC7 and they are awesome.
    These must be even better.

  • +1

    ….Must….not…spend….more….money….!

  • These are great nc headphones. I saw this deal last week but bought mine locally in Stanmore Sydney for peace of mind regarding warranty and paid $46 more than listed here. I dont think I could find an actual street address for Crazysales so I chickened out on this deal.

    • Where did you buy these in Stanmore?

      • +1

Store dj 168 Parramatta Rd, Stanmore (02) 9993 0758. Listed for $249 on their website. They knocked off 9 bucks for no reason. Nice and very knowledgable guys let me try the demos for as long as i liked in the shop.

        • My workmate bought from these guys (CrazySales) before and at first I was skeptical as well (because of the name) but they turned out to be ok. The only issue was he ordered during CNY so the delivery took a bit longer than expected but the delivery arrived via DHL so it was pretty fast. Haven't dealt with returns so can't comment on that.

StoreDJ - these guys are also excellent. I ordered from them a while ago. Had to call up to clarify some specs and the guy was helpful and knowledgable. The item I wanted had to be shipped from Melbourne to Sydney but that didn't hold my order back. I would buy from them again without hesitation or if you want a B&M store for the peace of mind. Also haven't had to deal with them for any returns.

  • I paid $235 delivered as I needed them for a trip next week. Been using them for the past 2 weeks and would say they are heaps better than the Beats NC and on
Par with the Bose QC15 for half the cost.

    • +1

Two other benefits over the Bose QC15 are that if the battery dies, the headphones still work (but without nose canceling) and on the QC15 the audio cable has a proprietary style connection to the headset. No cable from any other brand can be used in place of this cable. Oh, and the cans are black. I like black cans.

  • I own a lot of headphones, but my ANC9's are by far my favorite and best performing.

You only have to see them and you'll understand why they are better than the competition, build quality alone sold me (the Bose are nice looking, but thin and weak)

I travel a lot as well, and they are the first thing I pack (or attach via included carabiner).
In close to 6 months of travel, I've only had to replace the battery twice, and unlike the others, if the battery does die, they still work. If you're after NC headphones and are prepared to pay $150+, get these. You won't regret it.

  • Direct link to the product?

I can't find them from the website.

    • I did link this deal directly to the product but it looks like it's sold out now because it's gone from their website.
