    • Very good point! OP you can change the title to reflect the above saving so it's $549.

      • Thanks.

  • How much is their 32gb?

    Edit: nvm, $699

$10 off not available online. also not available on rain-check. Non of the store in ACT going to have it before next weekend.

  • My local store has some, which means even at same price beats big w for me. :D

  • $10.00 off per $50.00 spent ends this sunday

    • I need glasses "Until Monday 4 November 2013."

    • Was there today. I didnt read the voucher. Checkout women told me it ended sunday.

Today is iPad air day :);) . Will wit for XMAS $ALE THEN …

  • Anyone know if they will price match Big DUBYA for the 32gb price (668)?

    • Nope. I did tried. finally ended up getting 16gb.

  • +4

great price but 16GB these days is not enough. with all the apps and HD movies you will fill it up very quick. I have a 64GB ipad and its just enough.

Depends on how you intend to use it, which depends on how you consume data. If the iPad is little more than the window which you consume content, 16gb can be plenty. We stream everything, for example, from home PC, GiantBomb Video buddy, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu or home-NAS. Podcasts and a couple magazine subs are about the only things that are actually stored on our iPads. Words with Friends or Pinterest are probably the largest Apps on my partner's iPad, and Baldur's Gate or Football Manager the largest on mine.

In our case, 16gb is heaps.

But if the infrastructure doesn't exist for you to access content like we do (or you read a lot of retina-quality comics!), then 16gb disappears in no time!

      • +1

Same here on my phone too. 16GB is plenty. Keep apps to the essentials plus a few movies and some snaps and I am only pushing ~11GB.

I was disappointed in apple in this regard, I think it time to scrap the 16gb model.. 32 gb seems to becoming the standard now, even the n7 sells for under $300 with 32 gb now. I suppose 16gb is livable on an ipad used mostly at home.

    • +2

16GB is plenty for a lot of people, including my mum-in-law. It also makes going to the 32GB look like a better deal.

      • Once they've discovered they can take videos with their ipad not even 64GB would suffice.

    • +1

That's what Apple thought when they launched 32gb onwards only iPod touch 5 at a much higher price point. Ended up launching another cheaper version 16gb months later. Some people on a "budget" but wanna have access to Apple App Store and they don't mind deleting apps frequently to free up space like me will continue to buy 16gb only iproducts.

      • +2

I think most people on a "budget" wouldn't buy apple products in the first place. I feel a premium product at over $500 should come with 32 gb at this stage. Its just apple being cheap and trying to force people to spend an extra $100 for something that should be the base model. Its not like it costs all that much extra to manufacture a 32 gb model over 16 gb, certainly not $100. Gosh you can buy 128 gb ssd less than that nowadays.

    • +1

Um no thanks. I don't want to be forced to pay more for space I'm not going to even use. Choice is good.

      • Actually if they were doing it for the consumer by providing better choice, they would be giving choice at a fair rate. It should never cost $100 more for an extra 16 gb of storage, especially when its pretty much free from your competitors. I am saying that the current 16gb price should be the 32 gb version anyways.

  • good price for 16gb, too bad 32gb that i am looking for isn't on special. + for me for 16gb… good find

  • Does anyone know whether Target Staff Discount is 10% anytime soon?

    • +1

      It usually is in december.

  • total rip off

last year 16gb rrp was $499

    • +5

last year the exchange rate was > 1

      • -2

        usd conversion comes to

        499 = $527.551

Apple is charging rrp $598 AUD

so they are price gouging us even more

        • US prices hardly ever include tax because each state has a different tax rate; therefore, that $499 price is excluding tax.

        • yes, but last year the us price was also $499, and we also got it for $499.
Now it is $100 more expensive..

That is a total rip off.

I also hate apple not allowing third party lightning cables..
if u want another cable = $25 give to apple.

I got an ipad 4, so I not some anti apple person.

But apple is really pissing me off lately….

        • 527.50 + 10% gst = $580.25, So in other words at $549 with gst you could be paying less than many americans do, depending on what sales tax rate they get slugged.

        • Walmart is selling it for $479+ sales tax. And Apple and bestbuy will price match that. So americans are still paying less than us.

        • They also earn less than us

I bought the iPad 2 when it first came out and it was $579

    • +1

Got an ipad air 16gn wifi black from target for $521. Used the $10 off with staff discount card of 5%

    • Just think you could get another 5% off with ING card. :-D

My plan ING card plus trs = sub $500.:)

      • You get 5% off ING Card only on PayPass transaction which is less than $99. So you gotta split $549 into six separate transactions of $91.50 each like how I did :)

  • +1

    Darn, paid $568 at HVN…

    • Do they have a price guarantee in place? I know the Good Guys do not sure about Harvey Norman. So you can get the difference back.

  • Where can you get a good case and shield?

    • +1

Finally. I thought no one would ask this question.

Target Carousel (WA) still had about 12 ipads (black only) at 4pm today.
Just collect '$10 off when you spend $50 or more' coupon near the entrace. Got mine for $549. Thank you OP.

  • +2

Sweet, I get a further 5% off on top of that with my staff card, bringing it to $521.55.

Problem is, 16GB is not enough for me.

Rang up Bourke St (VIC) store and the guy said that all VIC stores have sold out now. Was also just at Southland and they're all sold out too. Ended up buying online - still a good discount.
