  • Only one in a store in Sydney when I rang… (I rang Coffs Harbour)

  • None in QLD.

    • None in ANY store in QLD? How do you know?

      • The sales guy at Officeworks Milton said the computer indicated ZERO in all QLD stores.

  • none in melbourne =(

  • Just tried all the Melb CBD stores - none.

I was told that there were only 2 in the state Geelong and Taylors Lakes (and she said they were probably returns, but for $99 still worth it if you can get one)

  • The white one is $299 so I'm thinking it is a pricing error

  • None in Clarence St Sydney

  • Just checked West Ryde, North Ryde and Auburn in NSW, none in stock and the sales guy said they've had a few calls this morning already lol

  • Officeworks web page already taken down.

    • Checked again. Deal gone. That was quick!

  • None in TAS. Any chance of price matching at Harvey Norman or something like that?

  • Went to Brisbane CBD - none in stock, they reckon there was only 4 available in Australia & none in Qld.

  • +1

Called up and only store in NSW is five dock. 1 is stock….

  • Just called and left my number staff are trying to find out if its real only 1 other inquiry today.. So in with a chance! :)

    Excellent deal!!

  • More "unbelieveable deals" can be found by going to their "Notebooks and laptops" section and sorting by price
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…

They have a "Compaq Presario C742TU Notebook"

Processor: Intel Dual Core T2330 (1.6GHz)

    RAM: 1GB

    Hard Drive: 120GB

    Screen: 15.4" Widescreen LCD

    etc etc

    For only $99

However click on the link (http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…) and you get "Sorry! An error occurred loading the page you requested."

The officeworks website is really quite dodgey! A -ve vote from me for officeworks - guys, fix up your website!!

    • I was able to add it to the cart but it comes up with an icon, no longer available. Obvious mistake. But yes, they should fix up their website.

  • Now they have taken the whole website down

  • -1

They have a major upgrade on the website over the weekend, and I am sure they recovered from an very old backup on their db. hence there are like $100 eeepc everywhere, $10 HDD, etc. Not a bargain, just technical difficulty OW is having.
Stop posting OW deal until you can confirm availability. 99.9% of the unbelievable prices are "no long available" as they recovering from the weekend.

  • LOL :-)

I went into the QV store in Melb and showed the girl the deal. She told me that she's already had 2 x phone calls and someone else coming to enquire. She reckons there was only 2 in Vic. One in Taylor's lakes and the other in Geelong… she reckons that they'd be clearance items… i.e. ex-demo or returns.

  • A disgruntled employee playing funny bu*gers with the website?

  • did anyone manage to print a copy of this that we might be able to try and get a harvey norman or someone else to price match?

    • good ideal.

      • had to have been hacked - someone obviously had enough

    • I printed one out… but the thing is Harvey Norm would probably call up Officeworks and I don't believe that Price matches are valid when it comes to Clearance items…

  • Just rang up campbelltown and liverpool stores and they have nothing…

  • OW website is now down.

  • I went and asked one of the sales assistants at the Melbourne King Street store. He said if they were $99 no customers would be able to buy them anyway, cuz the staff would snap them all up first :-)

  • This is quite clearly a database stuff up due to the website upgrade and not a genuine deal. -ve
If you tried purchasing anything through the online cart, most of the well priced items came up with the error "Item X has been removed from the catalog" and would not allow you to complete the order.

  • Called OW, none for SA.

  • OMG~ What a mistake!!! Called all Sydney store and NONE!!!

Damn, wish it was a true deal!!! Which adds to another Sydney CBD power blackout joy! lol

  • +2

    thanks for this info, pongie

"Called up and only store in NSW is five dock. 1 is stock…."

i got it and guess what it only cost $85, because they wouldn't sell me extended warranty.

The staff told me there are only 4 of these EEE pc's going for $99 around Australia, 3 in VIc and 1 in NSW, the one at fivedock. They said it was some sort of mistake online and have been getting calls about this comp all morning.

The comp is a display item and only has about 2 months left on its warranty.

    • Glad someone managed to score one.

      Cheers mate

  • None left in VIC, including Geelong and Taylors Lakes :(

  • Ah…I wish.
