2x Super Nintendo USB Controllers $18 (Delivery with Tracking Extra $7)

1010

To celebrate my new webshop www.retrozone.com.au I decided to have a "I can makes webshops sale"

Everything in the shop is on sale (Yes that's right all 5 items). For the time being we only accept Paypal.

The Super Nintendo style USB controllers have been my most popular ebay item so far and the feedback from everyone has been great. These controllers are easy to setup and work just about as well as the original Super Nintendo controls. They are perfect for emulation.

Item's are shipped by Australia post Parcel post with tracking and is a flat fee of $7.

Any feedback about the shop will be appreciated. In the near future my range will also be expanding and next week I should have USB Sega Saturn controllers, USB N64 and USB NES controllers.

Also if you have any requests about a retro controller or items please let me know and I will see what I can do.

EDIT. Just to let you guys know these are not official controllers. If anyone purchased them thinking they were please contact me for a refund.

Cheers

Chris

      I got your /s

      the others, it went /whoosh!

    • +4

You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!

    • +2

Well tbh these controllers can be had for cheaper on eBay. Meaning the price isn't so special, and I too wonder why there are so many positives. (Unless there's something special about these ones)

      Just sayin, not hatin.

  • RetroArch + bsnes + this

Sorry if this question is stupid, but would the Xbox 360 (style) controllers work on a Mac with Steam games? My official PS3 controller works, but is a bit flakey.

    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

Not a stupid question at all because I honestly don't know. I wouldn't count on it though. From a brief google it looks possible but it looks like a headache.

      • Would love to get it for this reason.. The dual shocks are a bit weird. Possible to check it out, rep?

        • Hey sorry missed this comment. I don't have a Mac I can test this out on and to be honest I don't even know how to use a mac.

OP- no love for Power Glove?

    • +3

The Power Glove is SO BAD.

      • Well er um just keep your power gloves of her Pal.

Perhaps I have seen that movie too many times.

    • +4

Nah, if everyone has a power glove how I am I suppose to win at battlefield 4?

    • +1 just for making that rhyme

  • Out of stock, I was too slow.

    • +1

Nope still have stock. I allocated some from the single snes controller stock to the 2x.

Thanks for letting me know though.

      • +1

Cheers, just placed an order then.

  • Just a suggestion.

Could you possibly stock PAL modified Svideo (and other cables), they need to be modded for PAL N64's, etc and is hard to find any that are not from the UK. Dreamcast accessory's such as the 4in1, etc would be awesome as well.

    • I will see if I can get these in.

    • Hey, I tried to pm you but you seem to have this turned off.

I had a look and I can only really find this cable but it has no mention of PAL. From the picture it looks like the same plug.

      http://hyperkin.com/retro-gaming/gamecube-sav-cable.html

I think I would have to price it at around $15.

  • Hi Rep,

You mentioned that you can pick up Revesby?

    What times are avaliable?
Where is the pick up location?
Do we need to place an order first?
And is there a handling Fee?

    • Hello,

Well the time varies as it really depends what I am doing on the weekend. Usually I can accommodate most times though.

Location is in Panania, no need to place an order and no handling fee.

  • Good luck and congratulations on your new endeavor :)

    • +3

      Thanks it's exciting times.

I can't believe the response, who would have thought there would have been so much love for retro controllers. :)

      • +1

There is a lot of love for retro gaming in general, if you have any of the genuine older games and controllers they would do pretty well as well

  • +2

Awesome stuff! Good for running retro emulated games on PC.
Even though there werent any logos on the pads itself… I guess for those ppl bitching about legal issues… you may want to consider adding "style" behind SNES, NES, XBOX360.

eg SNES style USB game pad for PC or something

    • +2

      Thanks I will do that.

You know I thought about it and they are cool and all but the fact I haven't bought one yet kinda puts me off making the purchase. Every time I have seen it my mouse hovers over the buy button but I just can't do it. I couldn't imagine actually using it on the train or on the go. However I might see about getting one or two of them in the future for novelty sake.

I am looking at getting some multi system retro consoles in though. However so far they have been much harder to source.

  • Any cheap LCD light guns for PC (use for Time Crisis)?

    • +2

I can get them in but I imagine it will be around the 45-50 dollar mark(please don't hold me to that price though). I believe it will be the top gun 3.

While the top guns are alright and do the job the best thing you can get is the aimtrak from ultmiarc which everyone says is hands down the best light gun. However it is about double the price and doesn't have things like recoil (but that can be added if you know what you are doing)

  • Look into sega saturn usb controllers, there are knock offs but there are also sega licensed usb controllers. These pads are regarded as some of the best pre analogue stick controllers ever made.

    http://www.play-asia.com/sega-saturn-usb-joypad-for-pc-paOS-…

Also usb converters for genuine retro controllers would be good to stock, and +1 for decent usb N64 controllers.

    • I am getting retrolink N64 and Saturn USB Controllers. They have a fairly good reputation with their quality.

I will look into the sega ones though.

  • Those aren't SNES controllers. SNES controllers had 2 light purple concave Y & X buttons.

    • Convex you mean. Sorry for being pernickity.

      • Yes, precisely.

        • The rainbow ver was release ver. Purple ver. was the later revision when the console was nearing EoL.

        • No, I had one with the purple buttons in 1992:

          http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JXK7r-cV7zM/UCrr1sy9hqI/AAAAAAAAAD…

        • Agree with this, bought the SNES just on release and it had the rainbow colours… Still have them kicking around somewhere… Dark on the fact I lost my Secret of Mana cart though :/

    • You must have had the US version.

      • -2

Of course I had the NTSC version. It was the "real" thing, not like the PAL one which was a complete disaster.

        • +2

Rainbow colour SNES for the win.

NTSC SNES was a fugly thing

        • Yes but at least it played games full screen/undistorted and at the correct framerate.

    • +2

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_S…

The North American version had the purple

The Japanese/PAL versions had the rainbow colours

    • I thought America was the only place who got the purple buttons?

  • I know a few people that would be interested in USB fighting stick options as well if you have anything in mind that is comparably affordable, yet effective.

    • The sad thing with fighting sticks is that it is either ridiculously expensive quality or cheap rubbish. Especially given how those fighting sticks are played there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. I will have a look though.

  • +1

Would be great if you had some USB but old style QuickShot joysticks, or Speed King or TAC-2

I would throw money at you.
    Thanks

    • I will have a look around. I would love one of those items as well but so far I haven't seen anything.

    • For something this niche you might need to look into hiring a video game modder to mod a usb controller onto an original controller if it's even possible. Then the next issue is is there any emulators that have joystick capabilities to use it?

  • Dammit saw this earlier then forgot about it then, now its out of stock.

Any chance there will be more in stock rep??

    • +5

I just finished packing up all the orders for today.

There will be more stock but as of right now I have about another 20 controllers. However I haven't tested them yet so I am not willing to send them out. (I give each controller a few presses on each ofthe buttons to make sure all the buttons are alright since a few get stuck)

However after that 20 are gone it will be another 2 or so weeks before I get more stock.

      • +3

Testing each controller! awesome rep is awesome.

        • +6

Well I don't plug it into the machine to make sure that it works but a quick two presses of each button to make sure the buttons are alright and it is over the plastic. Also if they come in retail packaging I don't do this either but the ones in retail packaging don't seem to suffer from this issue as much.

Out of the 150 controllers I bought I would say about 15 had small issues or didn't feel quite right. I will give it another go later and see if it was just in my head (It could be as I do press them over the plastic wrap). After that I am sure it is probably just some plastic stuck in there from the production or something and I will fix them and sell them as a refurbished model.

I know it sounds bad however this factory was the best out of all the ones I found. Some of the samples some factories sent me were all bad. :/

The last thing I want to be doing is selling crap, it is just a headache all around. It's a headache for the customer to send the items back as well as a headache for me getting returns so I want to minimize that as much as possible. The customer is unhappy and I am unhappy so it is just a lose/lose situation all around.

        • well your doing more than the other sellers at least. Glad your checking them at least a bit so thanks for doing that and your honesty! also good on you for only wanting to sell something that isn't crap I feel theres all to much of that (crap selling) going around.

I believe kasp & francesca are hands down two of the best reps I've seen all year on OzB IMO. Excellent customer service, genuine concern. Happy customer = satisfaction.

      • Please post a deal when you do!

        • Hey I don't have enough stock to justify a deal post but I do have some more controllers available if you are interested. Same price as before.

      • Thanks heaps for the reply, it's always good to hear when someone goes out of their way to help customers as opposed to other sellers.

Keep up the awesome work rep.

    • Hello,

I had a couple of abandoned checkouts so there is extra stock. I have adjusted the stock levels accordingly.

  • +1

Sega Megadrive and Master System ones please

    • I have some USB saturn ones coming in which is very similar to a megadrive one(6 button at least). Would that be alright?

There doesn't seem to be any master system controls apart from ones that are custom hacked.

      • If I can play sega master system and megadrive games with it, I guess it doesn't matter. maybe I buy when they come in then. thanks for your response.

        • Well the ninendo one is probably the most similar thing you will get to a master system controller without getting someone to hack it or buy a converter. If you 100% want the feel of a master system controller I believe this site can help.

          http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?cPath=21

There is a genesis converter there which will let you plug in the real controllers. I believe it will work for the Master system as well (probably should check with the guy though) I have never dealt with that site before but it is pretty much the only thing that has come up when I have searched for that in the past.

  • Just in case anyone is subscribed to this thread, did anyone get any of these working on a pc? Steam controller supported games, or only emulators?
