On last week catalogue it was only half price not $3.

So they didn't sell out during half price special.

  • My partner brought home one of these the other day because it was on special, also $3 I think, in Lismore NSW. So maybe Aus wide? Nice ice cream for a little after dinner treat.

Oops I see Superforever's post - maybe it was half price and not $3 after all

this flavour does not taste like gourmet ice cream.

    • its heaps nicer when mixed with the vanilla

Agreed weakest flavor of the connoisseur brand range. Really needs a new recipe maybe through a fudge swirl in and some dark chocolate pieces.

    • My wife actually quite like the flavour. Would love to know whether it's on sale around Sydney south eastern suburbs.

    • tastes like that other brown stuff. I got nearly a litre here for free. Before I bought this I thought I could eat anything.

    • I agree, I have tried most of their flavours, this is pretty average along with the Macadamia one which I didn't like that much. Cookies and Cream and the coffee flavoured ones are the best in my opinion.

      • +1

        Macadmia one ROCKS!

        • touche! macadamia is my favourite!

  • I doubted the metro stores like mine have them.

  • Anyone know how long the half price special is on at Coles?

    • I believe it's over.

      • Yep it is, had to pay full price at Coles Warrawong yesterday :/

        • +5

The dealer's got you hooked on ice (cream)

        • +1

          had to pay full price

I'm sorry, but that is in total breach of your OzBargain membership conditions.

Confucius say…thou shalt not pay full price

  • Is this for all coles in NSW as well?

  • Damnit I need to move there

  • Reminds me…

Does anyone know of a ice-cream with Choc Fudge Brownie pieces in it?

Ben and Jerrys seems to be close

Have a tub of this in the fridge, doubted the flavor when I first saw it in the freezer, woke up at 4am to find something to eat, ate this, god it was good. Had another bowl today. Caramel with honey and macadamia nuts, droool..

  • No Way. I shop at Corinda Coles! Did you go to CSHS too?

    • +1

only for one year they didnt want me to come back and i wagged at least 75% of year 10 there

      • +5

Nice. And now you are a pro OzBargainer, CSHS's loss

  • Woohoo it just keeps getting cheaper and Corinda is only 15mins away. Still about 100 in stock.

    • I just went there. Only saw about 20 left in the front fridge. The normal fridge was bare.
Not sure if any other flavours were on special.

      • No other flavours were on special. Nearly all the $3 tubs were at the end of the ailse at the back corner of the store.

    • +3

  • Insane, so is this in Melbourne?

    • nope looked at Coles Online for my area and the price is listed as $9.75 = sux. $3 wouldve been nice :(

  • +11

Have you noticed how these 1 litre ice-creams weigh almost the same as the 2 litre tubs?
"Connoisseur "is what used to be known as regular icecream, before regular icecream became more than 50% air.

Because icecream is sold by volume, not weight.

    • +2

Nice I've been saying for a long while that all these expensive ice cream don't taste anything special.

I grew up in New Zealand, where they do 'real' ice cream.

About 10+ years ago, my old boss was working @ Bulla ice cream as a high up manager. I remember him telling me that the goal of their ice cream tech team (LOL) was to make ice cream as fluffy as damn possible -> Effectively injecting as much air as possible into the mix. Literally, selling air in your ice cream. Let it melt and tell me how much you actually paid for he used to say.
      Dodgy buggers!

      • That's ok. Bulla makes pretty awful icecream. I love icecream, but prefer to pass up Bulla (even when free!).

  • Thanks OP!

Great deal and local to me so I had to check it out ;) shelve had like 15 or so left :)
