Against the [unofficial] OzBargain Code of Ethics.

        • aka Brodening

        • -1

The ethics of this website is actually really interesting to me.

Like how AussieMark gets downvoted but this website constantly features "bargains" which exploit businesses - like price errors, or free coffee or burger coupons.

        • In all honesty I sometimes have problems with that too (depending on the specific context), but that doesn't exclude a Brodening from being a dick move.

        • Er, theres 100,000 in stock

Doubt my.two purchases.will affect production lol

          There's a difference:
Pricing errors: the businesses have the final say on whether they want to give out stock or not. Realistically people want to score a bargain, but they aren't taking advantage of the business unless the business decides to honour the price.

Free Coffee (I'll use the subway cookie for survey as an example here): The business again has decided to run this promotion for a reason. They get either advertising or extra business or income generated. Subway give out a free cookie for filling in a survey. They get answers to improve their business. They think that's an appropriate trade off. They can end that promotion at any time.

Burger coupons: Really? ok, the burgers aren't being sold at a loss, and they are still generating business and income from them. They are getting business they otherwise wouldn't.

(Un)Aussiemark here has violated the unofficial code of ethics because he has exploited the business. By taking all the earphones for himself(I say him because mark is a male name) he's reduced the stock level of a particular store which means they get less advertising through the sale (and possibly more income through impulse spending). On top of that, most people who do this sell them at a higher cost to create profit, which is kinda shitty. Its like when people buy concert tickets which sell fast (splendour, bdo) and sell them later because the demand is high: you can do it, but come on. You take advantage of the business by taking their profits (even though they've decided to sell at a lower cost, they would have generated the business otherwise) and taking away their customer base also.

        • Well said.

        • Thanks buddy, didnt realise.

Ive emailed dick smiths and asked to return my two pairs

        • +3

2 is fine, 20 is ridiculous.
what are you going to do with 20 pairs of low end earphones?
Even stocking filling I can't imagine you'd have to fill 20.

brodening hurts your fellow OzBargainers i.e. they were going to that same shop only to find some douchebag had bought the lot.

businesses couldn't care less as long as it's selling.

besides, what's the purpose of exaggerating how many you actually bought? attention?

        • -1

Oh yeah the 20 was a joke. Thought it was obvious as city store was sold out before I bought any.

Anyway hopefully dick smiths.honours the terms.and conditions you guys let me know I broke.

Ill be more careful next time thanks

        • oh in that case my comment was meant as a joke too.

          lolz!

Dire sound reproduction (as noted in previous deals) but disposable enough for use when sweating in the gym/bike/run whatever, rather than using your good earbuds.

  • Seems like a headphone fever is going on OzBargain.. lol..

  • Not great for cycling. Suffer badly from wind noise (wind hitting the phones as you ride, makes the sound rather crackly).

  • had a pair of these for my vita when i was on the plane, pretty good bass and noise cancellation.

Like others bought these and the $2 at the clearence sale a month ago, both are dreadful, better off getting a $13 pair from the fortnightly posted meeleec earphone sale.

  • +3

I bought it last time it was on sale.

Expect nothing more than a earphone that transmits sound.

I picked up 2 for $10 delivered last time, not happy with the quality of them. They aren't quite the same model people rave about in the 35xx series and I think mine are actually faulty as the sound cuts in and out if I move the cable ever so slightly. When it maintains a solid connection the sound is unimpressive and the included IEMs from a years old Samsung are significantly better.

They do fit very well though, but that's subjective and doesn't help them sound any better.

Expect nothing more than a earphone that transmits sound.

    Word.

  • Back to $7.98 on website
