Philips Headphones (SHE3500BL) $10.10 for 2 Pairs + Free Delivery @ Dick Smith

1090

Basically a dupe of this deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/107802 posted by Captain Howdy however I thought this deserved a new post to actually get noticed. The deal is no longer $7.98 for one but free delivery is back on and it only costs $10.10 for 2 of these delivered or 1 for $9.95. Prices will update once you get into checkout. Tried a number of different postcodes that came to free delivery so should be Australia wide.

To clarify: You need to go through checkout to get the free delivery listed. Punching in a postcode in the estimated delivery box will show a charge of $4.95 which reverts to Free after going through checkout.

    Your a champ

    • +9

Yes it has…but you can get 2 pairs for an extra $2.10 :D…also free delivery is back on.

    • +4

If you buy two, it ends up being $3 cheaper per pair. And delivery is free. It's definitely a worthy bargain.

Especially because these headphones are actually really good.

        • +5

Actually…the post originally had "Philips Headphones (SHE3500BL) $9.95 for 1 or 2 for $10.10…" (perhaps not a direct quote but I definitely had the 2 for $10.10 in the original title)

I only changed the title to remove the $9.95 for 1 as I felt it was pointless to have it there because for 15 cents extra, you could get 2 pairs.

        • +6

Stay calm and neg jv. Just cause.

        • -6

I only changed the title to remove the $9.95 for 1 as I felt it was pointless

Agreed, that's why i made my comment.

  • Thanks

  • $4.95 delivery to bendigo…

    • +6

Did you go through the checkout phase? It will list a price of $4.95 delivery if you do the estimated shipping but when you go through checkout it takes it to $0.

Edit: Using the Bendigo postcode 3550 I was able to get free shipping.

  • BRILLIANT. Thanks for that.

  • It's cheaper instores

  • +1

I got a whole bunch of these for $4 as a replacement for some other headphones that were sold out at harvey norman a few months ago.

  • +1

thanks.. just made me spend $10.10

  • +1

oh its 10.10 for 2 of them.. yeah thats cheap!

    • No idea but these are 2 for $10.10 with free delivery…so for an extra $1.10 you get 2 pairs.

    • After reading all the reviews linked on the original deal I was curious if they are the same as the 3900's so I bought both. They are very similar but to me the 3500's actually sound slightly smoother, the 3900's have a slightly brighter sound, but both are great for the price. I no longer use my UE200's.

      • how is this compared to UE200?

      • Sorry I meant 3590's not 3900's. I prefer the sound of both the 3500 and 3590 to the UE200's.

    Thanks OP :)

  • Firefox can't verify my address.
"A complete billing address is required", even after I choose from the drop down box.
    No problem with IE.

  • Not sure something has changed or I am missing something, but now it says 2 for $15 offer ends 08-jul-13.

    • +1

      Ignore that.
The price will change at shopping cart/checkout

      • Yes, it does. Thank you.

  • +1

I purchased a pair of these last week from Officeworks for $9 as I couldn't find any in DSE or Hardly Normal - http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Aud…

I find them very tinny with no bass. Would these, being a different model be any different?

  • Pretty cheap decent headphones, I'm buying too many headphones already first Senhessier, then this….hmmm

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • Very happy chappy. I ordered a set of 2 as I go through earphones like there is no tomorrow. They always seem to lose sound in one ear after 4-8 months so this should last me until the next Logitech bulk deal comes around.

  • Great timing, was rummaging round draws, found a fairly substandard set to get by on, but these should keep the podcasts going for another year.

  • There's Pink one
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/earphones-headphones/philips-com…

However, the system doesn't allow to mix the colour.
The discount will not appear for one blue and one pink.

  • Got these for $4 from Harvey Norman a couple of months ago. Not very good earphones - flat and uninteresting.

    • -pretty much.. nothing too good or bad about these. Definitely not deserving this sort of hype.

      • +1

OK then, please suggest anything else that sounds better for under $10 ? I am all ears…..pun fully intended!

        • OK, I just bought some of the $3 ones as well. Will test and report my findings because unlike you I don't like to make brash, unfounded comments. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if these $3 DS ones come anywhere mear the SOUND quality of the Philips SHE3500BL.

        • THANKS for the INTERMITTENT caps… but really you havent tried either set.

These earphones arent bad… but they dont deserve the hype// I havent seen many positive testimonials to there quality from users who took up the last deal.

the 100 positive votes arent basically sheep who saw this meantioned on head-fi

..try them for yourself if you disagree they are only $10.

      • -1

80+ positive votes can't be wrong.
Maybe you need your hearing checked?

  • +2

Thanks for the post. Just bought 2. I have been using these for a while and I am happy with them. Those who says they are not good, need to know that these are $5 headphones.

  • Does anyone know if this one comes with the extension cable?

  • It's showing as 9.95 each or 2 for $15 for me.

    • You need to go through checkout and have 2 added for the price to change as mentioned in the description.

  • Dick smith screwed up my login. Tried reset password (they say they upgraded their system), 1 hr still no email…

I'm goign to buy as a guest

    • -1

You need an invitation to buy as a guest.

  • Bough the SHE3590BK from the good guys deal posted yesterday for $9 ($7 +2shipping), cancled that and bought this SHE3500BL. lol

  • -3

    These might be fakes.

Check the image on the website and zoom in,

the text says "Confort Compact", instead of "Comfort"

    • +4

It also says "Son Grave" on the top. So i am assuming this may come from a different country?
      Spanish or French?
      I could be wrong.

      • -5

        from a different country?

        like China ???

        • Yeah come to think of it, it might be a misprint but possible to be counterfeit. You never know. Original is also China

      • +1

        From Google Translate:
        Comfort is "confort" from French.

        • -1

          Comfort is "confort" from French.

What's Dick Smith in French ?

I thought this was Australian stock or do DSE drop ship these days ?

  • Better than the $300 pair posted yesterday!

    • The $300 pair have a FREQUENCY RESPONSE of 20 Hz - 20 kHz

      This pair has 12 - 22,500 Hz

So these have a much wider response range…

      • Ha ha. Since human hearing at its ultimate best on golden ears for a 17 year old is absolutely maxed out at 20hz to 20khz your would be wasting about 10.5k of range that is completely inaudible. Of course none of these will do 20 to 20k or anything like the claims with the standard 3db drop off.

  • Just grabed a couple of sets. DSE is getting lots of sales from me lately - 2 cameras, a timecapsule and these :)

  • Gah! , last night paid $18 in store for two of these in HN grrr.

On the upside the sound is good and they come with different sized ear pieces which is handy for those with smaller lugholes

    • Try this…

      http://www.harveynorman.com.au/customer-service/best-price-g…

To be eligible for the Harvey Norman Best Price Guarantee, you must provide to the Relevant Franchisee on the date of your purchase, or within seven (7) days after the date of purchase, evidence of any genuine competitor’s advertised price for identical product (ie, same brand, colour, model and quality) as advertised in a local daily newspaper, catalogue, radio, television advert or website. The competitor must have, or had the identical product in stock at the time the product was purchased by you.

  • Thank you, got a pairx2.

  • +1

Must be calm. I do not need them.

Keep calm and save $10.10,which is less than US$10,oh God, that's cheap.

    • +2

If you're a person with strong willpower and no impulse to buy things that you don't need….you're in the wrong place…DO IT!

      • +1

My willpower is about to rupture ;)

    • +1

OK. Being a true Ozbargainer, I gave in and bought them.

  • I haven't received any confirmation emails, just noticed that they have deducted the amount from my bank acc. Is that normal lol?

    • Same for me. Print out a copy of the invoice(at work, of course) if you are really paranoid about Dick taking your money and running! That's what I did

  • +1

Just grabbed a pair. I'm always losing headphones due to kids/dogs/washing machine. I dunno how people can sink $300+ for a pair of headphones.

    • lol they're probably more careful

  • +2

    I hate you.I hate you.I hate you.I hate you.I hate you.

Last time came to ozbargain, someone posted the msg saying SHE3500BL $8.95 I went to DSE and bought 2. I'm using it now…and you posted $10.10 for 2, free postage…

    • Get another two. It will be worth it ;)

More practically, you could go instore, return the two you bought and buy them again as per the deal?

      • lol. not worth to do it just for $10…thx anyway.

  • -1

    For 2148 shipping 4.95

  • +4

I'm curious as to how many headphones ozbargainers buy…

    • 1 spare in the car
      1 in my work bag
1 for everyday going out use
1 for around the house/ chores
      2 for bed
      1 for phone headset

      honest(!) ;)

  • +3

Did not need one .. but still bought two .__.

    Thanks

  • Bought 2. Thanks.

  • +1

I bought 2 last time and thought the sound was poor. I aren't a buff but the standards headphones my phone came with sound heaps better. Ok in a pinch only not any better sound than the pair I got for 1c last year…………

  • From the thread posted in the dupe:
    Philips SHE3580
    http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/she3580_28/she3580_2…

    Sound
    • Frequency response: 12 - 23 500 Hz
    •Impedance: 16 ohm
    • Maximum power input: 50 mW
    • Sensitivity: 102 dB
    •Type: Dynamic

    Philips SHE3500
    http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/she3500bl_00/she3500…

    Sound
    •Impedance: 16 ohm
    • Maximum power input: 50 mW
    • Sensitivity: 100 dB
    •Type: Dynamic
    • Frequency response: 12 - 22,500 Hz

So these ARE slightly different to the ones being reviewed in the giant thread.

  • Be careful, my order went through, but then the invoice amount was without any discount at all.
Had to ring up and cancel order.

  • i bought 2 from the last $7.98 deal :( sound is rather meh.

  • It's showing $19.90 for me?

    • +1

it saw your username and quickly changed the price?

      :p

    • Same here, I see some cancellation emails coming soon… Dick's reputation is getting better day by day…

      • Well is anyone surprised? It was never meant to be 2 for $10.10. It clearly shows it was meant to be 2 for $15 but that's Dick's problem, not ours.

        • +1

Not surprised, that's why I didn't order two, good on you if you get'em…

Neither did I bother with this one:

3X Logitech Wireless Desktop K400R with Touchpad $107.97
2X PHILIPS DJ Style Headphones $79.96
          Sub Total $187.93
          Delivery To be Calculated
          Discount ()-$187.93
          Total (paid now)$0.01

          Hah!

      • Called them up, apparently 6000 in stock

  • +5

I dont know what the hype is about, I bought these and they sound terrible. At first I thought mine could have been defective, but both pairs I bought sound terrible. Even the earphone connector is really terrible, it makes a static noise when you happen to move it around. I have had the meelec sp51, ue200, ue700, brainwavz m4, brainwavz r1, ipod earphones, chinese brand earphones from ebay and a whole bunch of others, these are definitely the worst quality ive heard, even playing with EQ.

    • +2

Absolutely agree. They're not comfortable and don't sound all that good.

I prefer the UE-100s that I picked up for $10 over these.

    • Totally agree.
Bought two sets (blue & pink) of these during the last deal (as referenced above)and they both have zero treble so it sounds like you've stuffed cotton wool into your ears first.
The 3.5mm plug is also dodgy (too small therefore loose in the socket) so crackles when plugged into the player.

      DON'T WASTE YOUR CASH.

  • seems expired..now says 2 for $15

  • +3

    At checkout i'm getting 2 for $19.90.

  • Me too - Strange that it doesn't even match their suggested pricing on their website, considering it still mentioned $15.95 for two of them.

    • Same.
      I think deal is expired!

  • Marking as expired, seems to have ended.

  • +1

Has anyones order status changed from processing yet?

    • Just received a confirmation email stating that my order has been dispatched

  • still no email from dick since order confirmation, might call to cancel it.

  • im still waiting and they don't answer their bloody phones!

    • Same
