  • This ends just before mid night tonight, 11th November. Could not work out how to make it expire at midnight and still appear on deals. that is why I put 12th Novemeber as do not know precisely at what time deals expire.

  • is the site broken? I can't get a single fare to come up.

Are these the ones with the 20 hr lay-over?

  • I can't get a single China Airlines fare to show up either?

  • Not working.

  • It's $1326 direct from China Southern website which isn't too bad either.

  • I have a friend who came to visit me from France. He forgot to do is ETA. When he arrives in China for the second flight, they turned him back to France using his return ticket. He lost 2 days and the whole price of his flights. They could have done is ETA in 30 seconds.
Use this company at your own risks.

      what is ETA?

      • 40 hrs according to the post below

Without a valid ETA/eVisitor (or other entry permit) for Australia, your friend probably should've been denied boarding by the check-in agent at the original point of departure (in France?). It's not uncommon for airlines (not just China Southern) to refuse boarding in situations like this, because they bear the cost of transporting the passenger home if they are denied entry at the destination country.

French passport holders aren't able to apply for an ETA online, which is possibly why China Southern couldn't do it in "30 seconds". EU citizens can apply for an eVisitor online, but that has a 2-10 day waiting period. If your friend didn't have an entry permit for China, then the alternative could've been to sit in a Chinese airport for a few days waiting for an ETA/eVisitor to clear.

If your friend feels they have genuine cause for complaint, though, they should seek compensation through the French civil aviation authority — EU travel laws are quite favourable to passengers for the most part. :)

  • 40 hour flight to Paris….. I don't think so! And I couldn't get the advertised price but few hundred $ more!

  • Can get to Amsterdam in June next year for 1284 which is pretty good. Too bad I want to go to London although might be interested in this still. If I can get one with an overnight stop over i'll probably get some tix.

    • I booked SYD-AMS for $2600 for two people last week. Pretty happy with it!

  • We booked with These to head to the uk for Xmas.
Euro tunnel is only $250 for a family of three to London. Saved us 2j flying direct

  • Meh, I booked return to Paris for under $1600 direct with Sinagpore Airlines in their recent sale….. A380 for the win!

    • "A380 for the win!"

I'll take the decades of bug ironing out and crash investigations of the 747 anyday over a quieter cabin, new plane smell and led lighting.

It's counter intuitive but it's when things go wrong that things get safer.

      • That's fine, but I'll take SQ over China Southern any day of the week. and don't get stuck in Beijing for 12+ hours on stopover.

  • Cheap but not the best service ever.
